His twitter said he may have been transferring because of family related issues. If that is the case, why are the 200+ other waivers applied for this offseason granted and his not? I had a feeling this was going to be the case. The NCAA is much more likely to grant a P5 to P5 transfer immediate eligibility, and often for reasons that are questionable at best.

No question, P5 get better treatment. The Group of 6 guys get nothing. There is no reasonable way you can tell me Tate Martell and Justin Fields deserved immediate eligibility over anyone else other than they now play for Miami and Ohio State, two of the most iconic helmets in football.

If BJ stays healthy and we can save a year of eligibility for Charles, it could be a good thing.

Also ... from what I've heard from CL and folks who watched him play over the years here in Gadsden ... the Woods kid is likely one that can come in and contribute as a Freshman RB. And Billingsley and Frye are change ups. We for sure need to keep BJ healthy and fresh. I think we had to lean on him too much last year ... he go beat up a bit at the end.

He got burned on the transfer rule because of a controversial ruling not long before his case was heard. That's the story I got from a probably unreliable source - ;-)
