Sorry guys... I'm sick of seeing basketball that looks about as horrible as a DeVry JV team.
Georgia Southern played a zone trap defense for the majority of the game against Troy... what was Phil Cunningham's plan to counter it?
Nothing. He didn't change a thing. Troy just kept shooting 3-pointers despite not hardly hitting 3-pointers all game long. Troy only made 6 three-pointers out of 24 for the entire game.
To make it worse, Georgia Southern shot 61% overall for the game... not because they were that good, but because Cunningham had zero transition defense. There were open lanes all over the place for Georgia Southern tonight. They were getting easy layups all night.
Phil Cunningham isn't a good basketball coach, period. He needs to be gone at season's end. He is a terrible strategizer.
Make the right decision, Jeremy McClain.

He needs more time and better facilities. He's in year 6. Everyone says he needs at least 10 years to get to .500 ball

We need more keyboard Coaches and Athletic Directors. just looks like supporters and fans of the program expressing their frustrations... fans are the integral part of any successful program. Are they, you, the coach, AD right ? Who knows.

2011-14 and men's basketball, volleyball and soccer. Makes you wonder how serious Troy is about winning. No coach in my recent memory has ever been fired or let go. The coaches have to know this so they don't have any pressure to win. I dont care if it's a "non revenue" sport or not. If TROY is on the Jersey then we should be trying to be the best team in the conference and not accepting mediocrity. PC has been a mediocre coach and that's not an opinion that's his record for 6 seasons. If you want Troy playing. 360-.400 ball by all means keep him. Personally I dont think he's going anywhere because I really dont think they care about BB. Do you really think the Arena was built for BB and volleyball? And Rigby would win in Sartain so dont bring that up. She's a actual coach

If Hartwell had his way LB would have been fired the night of the Abilene Christian game.

So I'm guessing the AD doesn't have the authority to fire? Who does then? Jack Hawkins has his fingers on everything. He is a micro manager to the highest level. I do think LB deserved to go out in a classy manner. I don’t think him hanging on too long was fair to the players.

What was allowed to happen to that program was shameful. A disgrace. First hand knowledge. And people wonder why fans and supporters get frustrated and some walk away.

He deserved to go out with class but they put him above the program and it about killed the program. Had NB not had the balls to take care of certain players and put discipline in, who knows where we would be

The sad thing is, basketball is supposed to be a revenue sport. I don't see how Troy is making any revenue considering the attendance.
Troy needs a coach that's a proven winner, not some assistant. Someone needs to call Ray Harper at Jax State and give him a big offer. I know Troy can afford it, considering they're willing to give (The HC we don’t speak of) (The HC we don’t speak of) a $2-mil assistant salary pool...
Harper has never had a losing season in Division 1, and he took a 8-23 Jax State and turned them into a 20-15 team that won the OVC and went to the NCAA's. Then the very next season, he went 23-13 and took them to the Semifinals of the CBI.
This season, Harper has Jax State with an undefeated record in conference play.

He's already coaching D1 basketball and a pretty good facility

Back to the original post. Heard that the expectations for CPC was to win the Sunbelt / go the tournament or changes were likely. You heard wrong Oh I’m sorry, I forgot you were the ultimate Troy insider down on your car lot in Central Florida. Yes I heard it from a person at Troy. The AD and Admin offices at Troy are leakier than the Titanic. Is it true ? We will see. I am a lot of things but a liar is not one of them.

The point was how else do you explain year 6 in the best facility in the conference and a career losing record

What would be his incentive for leaving other than money. He's already coaching D1 basketball and a pretty good facility More money, better conference, way better facilities that make recruiting easier, bigger arena, better history... Pete Matthews Coliseum is no comparison to Trojan Arena...which is what makes it even more impressive what Harper is doing, considering Jax State doesn't pull in the best recruits.
