It's not about (re-)building a program anymore - it's just about winning FB games now. Neal Brown is a great program builder and good coach but we don't have to replace him with another program builder. We just need a good FB coach, someone who can win games for us.
- we now have pretty good facilities for a G5 program - very solid recruiting classes - favorable schedules in 2019 and 2020 - a very well-coached and experienced team
Everything is in place! So (The HC we don’t speak of) just needs to focus on winning games and recruiting players now... while Neal Brown was also busy with installing a culture, enticing the fanbase, and even contributing designing the new endzone building, etc
Next two years: If (The HC we don’t speak of) (The HC we don’t speak of) can win most games for us (we are loaded and the schedule is favorable), get us ranked for at least a few consecutive weeks next season, win a few bowl games and ideally get us some P5 scalps (Mizzou and NC State) - he will be as successful as Neal Brown here and probably get hired away... which would be ok.
However, I would really like (The HC we don’t speak of) (The HC we don’t speak of) to groom a potential successor while at Troy - sth Neal Brown never did here. Mike Leach, Guz Malzahn, even Tony Franklin they all do this...

Valid point. He can live off of NB's recruits for next year and the year after. Maybe he is a great recruiter but its hard to tell because he only stays somewhere for one year. My fear is he lives off the prior staffs recruits for 1-2 seasons and then leaves the cupboard bare for the next coach.

My hope is he continues off the prior staffs success for a number of seasons, gets a P5 job and then leaves the cupboard even more stocked and loaded then he received it for the next coach. Some look and take the positive path (happy) other take the negative path (miserable)
