He meets most criteria IMO, former Troy guy, familiar with the area, and enough coaching experience at all levels.
Yes, he failed at Auburn, but Koenning failed at UNC - also Les Miles just hired him to run his offense at Kansas.
Neal Brown (re-)built this program - but we don't need a program builder at this point anymore, we just need a guy who can coach.
(The HC we don’t speak of) (The HC we don’t speak of) as OC:

I don’t know why it’s not listed there, but he left Troy after one season to coach high school football at Spain Park.

I think (The HC we don’t speak of) would do well at Troy. I also think Sumrall would do well. I think those are my two favorites.

Not the personality we need. For a HC perception > play calling. Chips an assistant. Not destined for HC positions like Neal. Though Neal did himself a diservice going to WV.

He’s got a guy from Freeport Fl I’m sure he will add to the staff if he does get the gig...Cole Weeks. He played at Southern Miss as backup QB and followed him to Auburn as a grad assist. I think he has a lot of confidence in this young man and it wouldn’t surprise me if he named him assistant or even co-offensive coordinator.

You think Neal Brown made a mistake taking the West Virginia job ? At $19,050,000 over the next 6 years, that’s ia mistakes e he could afford to make.If it doesn’t work out, he can go to 30A and live out his life in style.

You think Neal Brown made a mistake taking the West Virginia job ? I did when the initial dollar rumors came out but now that the numbers are better i think he made a great decision. I think it’s his final destination.

It was said (The HC we don’t speak of) left TROY because his wife hated TROY. I didnât hear it but thatâs been the talk from the moment he left. If thatâs true, is she gonna live somewhere else?

Heard the same thing. I guess Troy is a better place when your husband makes $1mil? Cash may buy a new house but it wonât buy you any more class. Saying (The HC we don’t speak of) failed at Auburn isn't really fair IMO. When the head coach, who claimed you were going to get full control over the play calling, overrides almost every play call you make and then THAT fails, do you really deserve to get the criticism there?

If he is hired as HC it will be a mistake. I'll support him and hope for the best but I have zero confidence in that hire.
