Going to miss Coach Brown. I think he is a fine man as well as an excellent coach.

Wow, I had tears watching that video so I can only imagine how CNB, the players and fans felt. I know how you feel because WVU has experienced the same several times. In contrast, our last coach didn't return to WV after the bowl game on the 28th and has never thanked his staff, the players, the administration that gave him his first HC gig, or the fans. Even though your loss is our gain, I hope you will take that buyout money and find a great coach who will continue to take your program in the direction it has been going. Best of luck to you....and GO TROJANS!!!!

I too am a fan and wish him well, but I get the "it's time to move on" sentiment. I know it's Twitter and we all know how accurate Twitter CAN be but there was a Tweet this afternoon that a player TROY is recruiting was offered a by WVU today. So, there's that.

I got to speak to CNB during halftime. I had a water bottle in my hand and he covered his face while asking if I was gonna throw it at him. Gave him the bro hug, talked to Brooke and watched him interact with anyone that took the effort of walking to him. When he and Brooke were here the first time we got to know them through church and obviously TROY stuff. When they returned they were the exact same people as they were the first time. Thankful to know him and my family will always be fans of Neal Brown regardless of where he coaches.

Did you see my response to that tweet? If not, the athlete mentioned is a 2020 prospect from Danville, Kentucky. I would think that athlete is interested in playing for one of Danville’s favorite sons, the school does not matter. As a parent, I would want the same thing!

I did see that and the comment above isn't meant to criticize. As I said, I'm a fan and I wish CNB well and I wish him success, however, we are now competitors, as indicated by said Tweet. I would be shocked if CNB didn't offer some of his top recruits a chance to play at WVU. After all, his objective now is to win games at WVU, not preserve TROY's recruiting class. That sounds harsh, but business is business. That doesn't mean I can't wish him success, overall, but when we're going head to head for a recruit or in a future game, I hope we win the battle every time.

Yea, If he starts offering recruits scholarships to WVU that he already offered/recruited for Troy, yea that’s just a little dirty and low down. But you also right it’s business.

The staff did the same thing when they came in 2015. Part of the game. Frost did the same when he took UCF. That's how he got Milton

This thread started as a tribute to a guy who has lead Troy Footbal out of a dumpster fire and Rebuilt the Wall. We just happened to be in Troy for today's Men's Basketball Game (A "W" against App, BTW.) CNB appeared at halftime, unannounced, and once again displayed the class act that he, Brooke and their family have shared with the Troy community for 4+4 years.
The cornhole clan wishes them well, they've earned every opportunity afforded them along the way.
Thanks for the memories Brooke, Neal, Peg and Tom. We'll meet again. It IS a small world.
WE can discuss Havoc later!

Registered just to reply to this post.
I remember back in 07-08 when the whole Rich Rod debacle was playing out.
Michigan fans came to our board and were arrogant, entitled, and downright hateful to us. Saying stuff like "We are Michigan, you are not," and "It's no wonder RROD would want to leave the s#!thole of Morgantown."
Obviously, we're not gonna do that here. In fact, we empathize. We've been on the other end of it, and I know how you guys feel right now. We're very glad to get CNB, but you guys WILL get another coach that'll keep you guys winning. Brown's built your program up to make it attractive to the next guy.
The fact that this is a huge deal for us says a lot about the state of your program.
If it means anything, a lot of Mountaineers just became Troy fans overnight. Hope you guys can reload in 2019 without missing a beat.
