The more I hear about him the more I like. If he can do the job I'm for him. Neal was here 4 years, three bowl wins, 3 10 win seasons but only 1 Sun Belt title and that we shared because we didn't play App St that year. 2 years we lost with the title on the line. So NB did a good job but we can still improve. He left us better than when he came but we can still be better. Go Trojans

Jordan Lesley would be a great DC promotion, IMO. Lesley is coming with Brown announced by WVU Where have you seen this? I don't see any announcement by WVU about coaches joining CNB.

Lesley is coming with Brown announced by WVU Where have you seen this? I don't see any announcement by WVU about coaches joining CNB. Excerpt from the article. Here you go... This didn't take long, but this is what our sources say is beginning to circulate around the Puskar Center: -- Coming with Brown from Troy: * Matt Moore (offensive coordinator/offensive line coach) * Sean Reagan (quarterbacks coach/co-offensive coordinator) * Vic Koenning (defensive coordinator/safeties) * Jordan Lesley (defensive line) The roles in parenthesis are their roles at Troy. Could be the same here. Could be different. The first three names are no surprise. Lesley probably isn't a surprise, either. Again, Brown didn't have to replace too many assistants after filling his initial staff. Just three. Lesley, a former Troy tight end, joined after Brown's first season. He was at EMCC before that. Coached Zeke Rose. Coached with Clint Trickett. He knows junior colleges. He's also been pretty good with the Trojans.

My pick for new DC. Set NCAA single game sack record and can teach our defense visualization for tackling fuel, how to open a can of Whup A$$ and the short yardage power bomb stop compliments of Captain Insano. Plus Troy will be the best hydrated team in the country Hydration is an underrated portion of the game.

Gotcha. Not great news, if true. But not a surprise. But this is far from official. Just a WVU writer.

You have to think about that because the coaches convention is this week where coaches go and network. Also Brown will be meeting players tomorrow at 6 pm to address them and it is suspected that Vic and others will be there.

Go to the 20:00 mark and picture yourself as a current player He would be a good choice for DC, since we lost VK.

No doubt that Jon loves what he does!!! We saw a similar clip of him at Tulane when he came to Troy.

Yes ... agree. DC ... not necessarily HC. Why not as Head Coach? I'm trying to figure out the reasoning on the board. Sumrall who has been both a DC and AHC isn't qualified but NB who had been a P5 OC for 5 years at 2 different schools was and Derrick Ansley who has been nothing but a DB coach his whole career is qualified to be HC because he coached for Saban....well so did Jim McEwan. Scratch my head sometimes.

If I owned a large, multimillion dollar corporation, and my corporation employed a recruiter to locate and hire new employees, there are few things I'd demand of that recruiter.
1) Identify the MOST qualified person for any open position and make every reasonable effort to bring them on board. 2) Leave no stone unturned. 3) Disqualify no single individual until they have been thoroughly vetted. Disqualification can occur at any point in the process - background check, resume' review, interview, second interview, etc 4) Until such time as a potential candidate has been disqualified, do not discount them.
I think there is some confusion here about this process. There have been a lot of names mentioned as potential HC. Just because a name is mentioned, we can't assume that individual is qualified. We can't even assume the person mentioning that name thinks they are qualified. We can only assume that, by being mentioned, someone thinks there is a possibility that individual deserves at least preliminary consideration. By the same token, we can't assume they are not qualified until they have been properly considered. We are all just sort of thinking out loud on this issue and not all individuals whose name are mentioned will be the appropriate person for our job opening. Likewise, there are more than 2 (just a random # I picked) individuals who are qualified and should be considered. Let's not overlook anyone who potentially meets our needs but let's also make sure we narrow the field to the best 2-3 guys and make a wise decision.

Yes ... agree. DC ... not necessarily HC. Why not as Head Coach? I'd support him if he's the guy. Wasn't around him much ... don't remember much about him. Seems sharp enough. Just saying he's not a slam dunk .. there are a number of good candidates. If we happened to get an offensive-minded HC ... then I think he'd be a good get for DC. Not sure what he makes at Miss ... but this could be a good option if we could get him for less $$ for sure. Maybe around $700k? I don't see that we'd be competing others for him ... so we could save some $ and invest in assistants, etc.

Ok, read up some on Sumrall. I'm impressed. So, just a thought ... what if we could get him as HC ... and he could recruit Schlarman as OLine/OC!!! Coach Moore has done a good job the last few years ... but tell you what, Schlarman is one the best coaches I've watched in person. It was a huge hit for us when we lost him.
Or, if it's Schlarman as HC and Sumrall as DC ... either way, I'd vote for this!!!

Not sure. Saw a pic of he and his family at their Bowl game. Looked good, but of course you never know. First and foremost I pray he beats it ... not just to coach. A really good guy.

We can get a young aggressive OC. Great defensive coaches are few and far between
