Wow, what a total let down for all those fans that traveled during Christmas...not to mention all the money spent. Tweet

First bowl game cancelled since the 1941 Hawaii Rainbow Bowl... which was cancelled... due to the attack on Pearl Harbor!

Someone mentioned Bowl games are not about the fans, now it’s not about the game. Hmmm, must be about the weather$$??

Not only the money lost, to the schools, but what happens to Boise’s 23 ranking in the AP and 25 ranking in the Coach’s polls?

The WORST day for a game of ANY bowl is the day after Christmas followed by the second day after Christmas. With the movable date of Christmas there are years where to Dollar Genital Bowl is really tough to semi tough but never as tough as those 1-2 days after Christmas. I am not sure how many bowls have been played but the crowds have been horrendous. Even the SBC bowls of Dollar, New Orleans and Camellia bowl have had limited crowds to an extent. While the Dollar said the crowd was 31k plus the actual butts in seats was 21500-24000. (Yes I took multiple stills and counted rows and watched TV coverage with stills from it 3 times because I am paying someone 13 dollars and am anal about attendance) At least for the distance for App and the date for us not bad attendance by the 3 SBC teams. Almost everyone other bowl to this point has had terrible amounts. The Cure had maybe 2500 total actually there. The Bahamas was PITIFUL and so and so on. Destination bowls are great but it is hard to shell out money around Christmas and travel. A good many Troy fans may have made it to Cure but these fairly local bowls are not bad for us. Just glad we can avoid those 1-2 days and maybe 3 days after Christmas bowls (and yes I knew that 3 days prior was the DG) They are just tough. The bigger bowls coming up should be better attended but other than Louisiana the SBC has done very well in their representation.

Simple fact.....There are to many Bowl Games with lack luster teams in them. Troy (other than San Jose in 2004) has had the advantage of playing Bowl games in a 2-6 hour radius of its core fan base. The MAC is 0-5 in Bowl Games with an average fan travel distance of probably 700-900 miles forcing them to have 2-3 days to drive or spend $$$ on airfare in a month where you are already spending $$$. To many of these mid major teams that draw 15,000 to a home game being forced into Bowl games 700-1,000 miles away in December, close to Christmas, with fans spending money on other things, and then wonder why they draw 200-300 fans?

I hate it for the fans and the players, especially the seniors. But part of me does find it kind of funny because ServePro sponsored the bowl game and their slogan is: Like It Never Happened At All.
