I had a feeling nobody else had posted this. I’m gonna guess had we lost there would be duplicate posts. Trojans win 87-81 on the road.

Yep. That victory by the Trojans will upset some on here.

Huge win for the Trojans! The Hilltoppers had beaten West Virginia and Arkansas. This Trojan team is really starting to gel and at the right time (conference season begins in less than 2 weeks). The Seniors (Jordon Varnado, Alex Hicks, and B.J. Miller) are playing very well and the new guys (Zay Williams, K.J. Simon, and Charles Norman) are really giving great minutes off the bench. Also, the Sophomores (Darian Adams and Javan Johnson) are contributing in huge ways.
By the way, my family and I travelled to Tallahassee and watched the team play FSU. Don't let the final score of that game fool you. Troy competed very well with (the now) 10th ranked Seminoles throughout the game. FSU pulled away over the last few minutes but Troy played extremely hard against a team that went to the Elite 8 last year and will probably go very far in the NCAA Tournament this year too.
I really believe this team will compete very well in conference play and could have a chance of winning the Sun Belt tournament if they continue to improve as the year goes along.
GO TROJANS!!!

Yep. That victory by the Trojans will upset some on here. A win over the Western Hillbillies and CDOA opponent would never upset this Ho. It's the inconsistent and lackluster play that does. This program used to pack Sartain. The Fire Marshall had to turn back people for that very first WKU game there. Now, it's just boring. Maybe this win will reignite that fire. Maybe watching the girls stomp on necks helps motivates them too?

I wasn't around when Sartain was packed out. When I moved here in 2011, Sartain's attendance was mediocre at best. I would say that some of the larger crowds at Trojan Arena over the last few years would also pack out the smaller Sartain. I can't speak to the past Trojan teams before 2011, I would leave that to you and other Trojan fans. I have heard those past teams loved to shoot 3 pointers and run the floor, which does make for some exciting basketball as long as you win!
However, I do know this now: the 2018-2019 team is developing nicely. They have had one game this year where they completely played poorly and that was against Southern Miss. They should have or could have beaten St. Louis at St. Louis (a team picked to win their conference), Pitt (an ACC team), Austin Peay (in OT), and Florida St at FSU (ACC team in the top 10). I know many on this board ridiculed the loss to Austin Peay but Austin Peay is a solid Ohio Valley Conference Team (with solid Senior leadership) that has now won 4 straight games. Our Trojans should have won that game but unfortunately they did not. We shot 4/26 from 3 pt. range in that game. Most nights you are not going to beat anyone shooting that poorly. In fact, most nights when you shoot that poorly you are going to get your eyes beat out.
We have one more out of conference game this Friday night at UAB. The Blazers nearly beat Auburn yesterday, so we will have our hands full with them on Friday night. UAB is a young (albeit talented) team. If we were ever going to beat them this would be the year. After that game, we begin the conference slate of games. I believe this team will be primed and ready for conference play. If they continue to improve (the young guys especially) the sky is the limit. They could challenge for the regular season of the Sun Belt and who knows, could possibly win the Sun Belt tournament. That being said, when they begin conference play, we need to pack out Trojan arena or at the very least give them some crowds with some semblance of enthusiasm. I guarantee you I will be there with my family making tons of noise and rooting for our Trojans to get the "W"!
GO TROJANS!!

It's a great win, and I congratulate the team. But, I wouldn't be scrambling to give Cunningham an extension. Let's see how things go in the conference.

It was a great win, and I hope it's a sign that the team is going to get on a run.
But let's be real about this, please... one win isn't going to suddenly make the season. Let's see if Troy can keep playing well before y'all start acting like the previous posts about how bad the team has played are unfounded.

WKU is a .500 team with a few good wins on a pretty tough schedule. Kudos to the Trojans but agree with the others, let’s slow our roll on anointing this team as “back”. The sad part is we shouldn’t have go down to the near bottom every year in the first place. Regardless, Let’s hope we can make a magical run in the 2nd half of the season and win the Sunbelt. The players, especially the seniors deserve that.

The next game could very well indicate a sign of what's coming. UAB played Auburn very well and has been a tremendous thorn in the Trojans' sides through the years.

I agree with you guys that one game does not make a season. With that being said, this team is improving and it will be interesting to see if that improvement continues with conference play looming.
I agree about the UAB game this Friday night. UAB has had our number the last few years. If we could go to Bham and come away with a win that would be huge as we go into conference play.
Finally, I am also really glad to see some "kudos" for a solid "W." We definitely see posts when they lose (and probably rightfully so). Hence the start of this thread in the first place.
Go Trojans!!
