Is there a chance we break the attendance record since Southern Miss brings a decent crowd? I would guess they bring more than Boise did and it is early in the season.
Would be nice, as we all know, to have a home and home each year with them

I don't think it will be a record, but it will be a good size crowd.. well if we win our opener against Campbell. It should also be an exciting game. Stadiums always have more fans it in when a game has the potential to be exciting. It would be great if we got lucky and this was a night game.

TROY has gotten really good at scheduling early season games at night to help offset the heat.

Depends on which "fans" stay at their tailgate or stay home to watch Bama play South Carolina that same day. Auburn has a game against Kent State that day, which will likely be a 12p ET kickoff.
It will be a good crowd, but I don't think it will be a sellout. If Mississippi State and a ranked Boise State didn't sell it out, Southern Miss probably won't either unless there is some sort of incredible marketing campaign that happens.

Sell raffle tickets for 5 bucks each. In the 4th quarter, one fan will get half the take. High schools do it. Call Oprah and ask her to give everyone in the stands a new car.
Have Garth Brooks have a concert immediately following the game. Free to those with a punched ticket.

I really don't know what it would take to get a sellout besides bama or barn actually coming to Troy.

I wasn't asking if we would sell out. The question is - Is there a chance we break the attendance record? And if no, do you think this game makes the top 5?

Reality or not , Buffalo appears inferior to Troy (Yall playing Buffalo Bills?) and if we lose, it sets us backwards. Liberty set us backwards... Abilene Christian set us backward and caused an avalanche. We finish on a loss and the feeling about next season is meh to those folks you would need to show up to get a high attendance record.

True with Army! That will definitely have a chance to break the record and possibly sell out!

More cheering for Army than Troy - true! But it will be a great atmosphere!

Well, shouldn't we think of a way to get that the other way around?

Future Army series might actually happen.
Southern Miss game should be a sell-out. They will bring a lot of fans. USM will return many starters from last year / they were pretty young this year - it will be a tough game.
I really want to re-new the UAB series. I was indifferent in the past, but with UABs recent success and the new stadium, I see some potential - I really hope we can rekindle the in-state rivalry against the Lizards.
Both S Miss and UAB should be our main rivals. S Alabama is not exactly rival material.

Both S Miss and UAB should be our main rivals. S Alabama is not exactly rival material. There was a time, not too long ago, I was somewhat ambivalent about the "rivalry" with South. The thing that kept it on the back burner for me was the history TROY has vs USA in other sports, specifically baseball. As the last few years have play out, however, this has grown into a fun fledged rivalry. With some of the comments (especially the vulgar ones) mad by some of their fans during South Hate Week, it has become a joy to beat them down. It is also a joy to own Ladd-Peebles and make it, as someone said this week, VMS - South. That said, once the new facility is finished in B'ham, I'm all for renewing that series with UAB. I'd say, make it semi-annual since we don't share conference affiliation, but continue it no less. As to Army, they put things together at the end of the season and that, depending on timing and the quality of each time at the time the game is played, would be a fine contest or two. I really enjoyed having Navy in TROY and would love to have the other two academies come in as well.
