As for where Louisville may turn next, sources tell FootballScoop Louisville AD plans to meet with Scott Satterfield and potentially Neal Brown as well.

Ga Tech just opened up too. No personnel to run spread. Would be a disaster for Neal Would be a challenge for any DI Coach to assume, but two, maybe three years down the road?? With some aggressive recruiting? Don't listen to Tech Propaganda re: But, But, But, we can't recruit due to standards, curriculum etc etc. That's one huge rationalization for PJ's lack of effort. Hell, Tech had a jock degree when i was there in the dark ages!! Clemson does it. Stanford does it, Purdue does it, Notre Dame does it. All challenging entry standards and curriculums. Atlanta ain't a bad place to be fellas. CNB could do a lot worse!

Tougher standards than some of the other ACC schools, second fiddle to UGA, would recruit against Clemson, FSU, Miami just in your immediate area plus the SEC schools. You have Atlanta but a lot of obstacles against you. You have a better chance to win at Louisville than Tech imo

That institution needs a reality adjustment. There's a reason for PJ's "retirement", and it's just a media/institution deference to his years of service and "achievement". And where in the SE United States would you NOT meet tough recruiting competition?? It's part of the business now, wherever one lands. CNB will do what's best for family first, career a very close second. Those priorities are closely hand in hand for Neal.. In his shoes sir, would you rather be recruiting to ACC in Atlanta for bigger opportunities, or Sunbelt in Troy? Reality check. CNB is a Wildcat Family/Fan, Louisville sux.

No players for his offense there right now. We had a former Troy coach (Gailey) at Tech and the recruiting standards are tougher. Biggest problem is players currently. No qb, OL recruited to block triple option and are a bit undersized and lack pass protection capabilities. He would either have to get a true freshman like Frost did at UCF and Nebraska or get a juco like we did with Omar. Tech might not have the same standards as Stanford or Notre Dame but they are tougher than most schools. Nothing against Tech either but it doesn't have that same academic luster either as Stanford, Duke, or Notre Dame unless you are that smart player looking to be an engineer. Great school but most people (myself included) still look at it as a engineering school.

H@ll, CNB hardly had any players for his offense at Troy by end of this season. Tech would be a challenge for any new coach. That's why they're paid the Big BUCKS!! Yes, Tech is Internationally respected for it's Engineering Curricula but Architecture, Biomedical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Computer and Business Degrees including MBA's are quite available at Tech in this century! Old news. I'd wager that GaTech Undergrad programs have prepared more Doctors, Lawyers, CEO's, Architects and other professionals for their careers than Troy has graduated Band Directors over it's history. And, that's NOT a knock on any academic luster at Troy,,, In fact I'm a huge fan of the SOTS and the young professionals who graduate Troy! H@ll, my third grade teacher and high school Tennis Coach were Troy Grads and I was actually accepted into one of Tech's engineering programs. Unfortunately, I could not spell calculas, much less figure the differential Y and X stuff! I did shine in my academic honors fraternity there, Sigma Epsilon Chi, "SEX" for short. Our motto was "Differential Y, Differential X, To h@ll with Differentials, we like SEX"! And, I actually graduated in 4 years, despite my obvious challenges.

We've discussed this over on the Tweeter, but is anyone else offended when they don't have CNB as a top choice... yet at the same time, don't want him to leave. I find myself defending how good he is while wanting people not to realize how good he is.

I know Virginia Tech has "Human Development" with a lot of athletes enrolled. Va Tech "cut back on academics for football" on the insistence of Frank Beamer when he took the coaching job.
