If Arkansas St wins they go to NO which would leave App St probably going to Dollar General which then leaves us either going to Montgomery or Orlando and the administration I'm guessing picks Montgomery for ticket sales. If App Wins then it gets interesting. Louisiana vs Appalachian State for the title. But scenario still makes sense if the Louisiana wins. But let's be real... ain't no way Louisiana beats Appalachian State. There is always a chance that bowl committees can negotiate and trade a pick with each other. Camellia Bowl may desire Troy, while Dollar General may want Louisiana.

For selfish reasons, I don't want Mobile (b/c I might not get to go lol). I normally wouldn't want Montgomery, but I'd take it this year. Orlando would be great. Just glad to be bowling anywhere, tho!

It boils down to FANS- Mobile or Montgomery PLAYERS- Orlando
I still think we would draw ok in Orlando and a AAC opponent will bring a bigger crowd than a MAC team but we would pack Crampton Bowl for sure and have true home field advantage...it just won't be terribly exciting for the players other than the game

Not to sound like a bad person but I don't want to be stuck playing Ohio again.

If I were a betting man, I'd go ahead and make hotel and food reservations in Mobile.

Any guess as to what MAC team? Here are possibilities...Buffalo, Northern Illinois, Ohio, Eastern Michigan, Toledo or Western Michigan? if payout is based on ticket sales which bowl would be better? Montgomery or Mobile? I would think we pack Crampton Bowl but not sure about Mobile.

I have seen 3 different bowl projections today that put us in Montgomery against Ohio. I don't mind the location but I'd like to beat down someone else. I also saw UAB filling in at the independence bowl so I don't know how reliable any of these sources are. The only bowl confirmed is Bahamas bowl.

Just my opinion but I think Sat Dec 15 is a better date than Sat Dec 22. Seems a little close especially if people are traveling elsewhere for Christmas and with family functions that weekend with Christmas being on a Tues. Dec 22 I would not be able to attend as my family has to celebrate that Sunday becuase of two of my kids work schedules. But everyones schedules are different.

With this, the DG is down to Troy and GSU. With the history of Troy fans showing up at the the DG, they will pick us. Better than Montgomery. The only thing about the DG is the stadium. Otherwise, Excellent Food, excellent entertainment, some good sites to visit, side fishing trip, cool parade.

But I'm going to try! Suggestions for cheap but not scary, pay by the hour type hotels that aren't too far from the game? In Mobile I expect the Sun Belt team hotel to remain the same as previous years, Renaissance Mobile Riverview Plaza Hotel. In the past, Friday night bowl events are around Bienville Square. IF you have never experienced a bowl game, I would encourage you to stay somewhere in that three or four block area. Everyone has a different definition of cheap, but there are four or five properties in that general area (that I have NO personal knowledge of) ... The Admiral, The Battle House, Candlewood Suites Mobile-Downtown (I think the least expensive, so might not have availability), Hampton Inn & Suites Mobile-Downtown Historic District, and Hilton Garden Inn Mobile-Downtown. HOPE that helps you with your discussions with your wife!

The Conde Inn and Malaga Inn are both nice quaint historic hotels that are in the walkable area of the team hotel. The Hampton is on the corner of the parade route. I believe it is across the street from the team hotel.

You can't go wrong with either the Battle House or the Riverview Plaza, I've stayed in both. In addition to being nice hotels, your staying there helps the financial health of my wife's retirement fund (RSA owns them both). The Battle House is a little less modern in style than the Riverview and perhaps a little more plush, but that doesn't mean old and dated. Even if you don't stay at the BH, go by and explore it's meeting rooms (great art work) and learn it's history (it's not called Battle House for nothing). Neither of these two are cheap, but they aren't Waldorf Astoria priced either.
