If that D shows up like that in Boone, I think 4 field goals will be enough again. 6 count'em 6 turnovers.

I do not think that we'll be so fortunate to have that matchup in Boone. I think that our anemic O will need to get a transfusion of sorts to help our D get the W in Boone. Now, if Sumpter could just catch a pass....

I have not posted in some time. Amazing how things get re-prioritized after what our area has been dealt. This is why I have not posted but life is normalizing and so with that THERE HAS BEEN TROY FOOTBALL TO AT LEAST TAKE SOME OF MY THOUGHTS ELSEWHERE. Thanks to my friends at TROY and to coach NB and the guys. With that said: If you had told any of us that we would be sitting here with one game to go in the season 9-2 with a shot at hosting the first championship game when the season began most of us would have been thrilled!!! Even Ho May have posted 409 pics of USC song girls to celebrate in advance. Anyway to have a chance you have to be in the game. Last nite was ugly. Do I think we play that way again?!?! Oh heck no!!!! Even Norm (who is in rehab after his slight miscalculation of Michael) is excited!! The chance to play App for the East title and so forth is a privilege of doing what winners do! They don’t need others help to get to Championship games!!! I am proud of how the team has handled so much and no matter what I will be proud to cheer the Trojans on at the championship game or just a bowl after this Saturday. Last nite was ugly but then again so are a few of us. That does not seem to stop us from carrying on. Go Troy and surprise the banjo playing goat lovers of App St.

Tell Norm not to be too hard on himself, he wasn't the only weather prognosticator, man or beast, to miscalculate Michael. We're going to need his weather prowess down the road as we prepare to play these late season games.

For any of you coming to Boone next weekend, travel safely. Please let me know if you have questions about restaurants, breweries, etc. Here's hoping the best version of both teams shows up next week. See you in Boone.

Expect my knees and ankle to argue the entire game about which of the three hurts the most.

My only question is this: which WRs will be back for this game? If Sawyer has enough targets we will win. Otherwise, we can win, but it will be a struggle.
Okay, I lied, one more, was Whittemore injured this week? I don't remember him being out there.

Yes, we have redshirt Freshmen and Sophs who are listed as receivers. Playing for one game or two, won't blow a redshirt if I understand the rules. So, why not next man up now? Just perplexing. This play to not lose offense just bores me. Yes, I said it.

Right now, it's looking like cloudy with some rain possible and highs in the mid-40's - not bad at all for the end of November in Boone. At least it's not looking like the 22* and ice / snow we had Friday. We'll know more as we get a little closer. Just dress like you would for 4:30 a.m. deer hunting in January and you'll be fine.

I did that in Mobile once. It was 28 degrees at kick, I was bundled up like Ralphie headed off to school. To top it off, we lost to Central Michigan in OT. Man, that was a fun trip, and that's not sarcasm.

Man, that was a fun trip, and that's not sarcasm. That was the game where we couldn't stop Antonio Brown That was a helluva game, even in a loss! Their QB (LeFevour) was a better leader than our QB, very close game but that intangilbe made a difference! Not only was he a stud, he had the hearts and minds of his team... I remember him well. Daniel Terrence LeFevour (born March 19, 1987) is a former Canadian football quarterback. He was originally drafted in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears and spent time with three other NFL teams (without appearing in a regular-season game) before entering the CFL in 2012. Before his professional career begun, he played college football at Central Michigan University. Known as a dual-threat quarterback, LeFevour previously held the record for most touchdowns scored (e.g., by passing, running and catching the ball) in the history of the NCAA, with 148 touchdowns scored. Case Keenum has since surpassed that record, in 2011.[1][2]

Since this thread is about App state ... just wanted to ask advice on gameday parking, etc. This will be my first trip to App. Staying at Beech Mtn. Friday ... and will need to get on the road after the game heading back toward Atlanta. Haven't noticed an App State person posting this info yet. Thanks!

Since this thread is about App state ... just wanted to ask advice on gameday parking, etc. This will be my first trip to App. Staying at Beech Mtn. Friday ... and will need to get on the road after the game heading back toward Atlanta. Haven't noticed an App State person posting this info yet. Thanks! Parking is always at premium in Boone. Almost every lot on campus is designated for donor parking. That said, there are private lots around that charge $10 - $20 a spot. First Baptist Church on King St is surrounded by campus and an easy walk to the stadium. They charge $20 a spot with the proceeds going to mission work. While I don't think FBC Boone allows alcohol, the church is right beside the library parking deck which is home to some of the finest tailgating to be found anywhere. Just park at FBC Boone and go to the top of the library deck. There's also parking at Hardee's which is a relatively flat walk to the base of Stadium Dr. Hardee's is right beside Holmes Convocation Center at the entrance to campus. If you can get to Stadium Dr. from the back side of the stadium, the folks along the road will allow people to park in their yards for $10. That's a pretty steep hike but not as long as some of the others. You will not be allowed to turn onto Stadium Dr. from Rivers St. without a donor parking permit, so you'll have to get there by turning left on Poplar Hill Dr. off of Hwy 105, then a sharp left on Dogwood Rd., and the first right onto Stadium Dr. It's all residential through there, and the police will stop you before you get to the stadium. Be on the lookout for parking after the near horseshoe curve on Stadium Dr. Finally, there are the Watauga County Social Services lot and Appalachian 105. The Watauga County Social Services lot on Poplar Grove Extension is a combination paid / donor lot. Appalachian 105 will be on your right as you're coming in from Beech Mountain. The road to Appalachian 105 is High School Dr. (cleverly named for the high school that used to be up there). There are shuttles from both of these lots to the stadium. KBS has a clear bag policy similar to most venues these days. You may bring a blanket in with you if you like (recommended if you're not used to the cold though it's not supposed to be that cold by Boone standards on Saturday). Wear your Troy gear and introduce yourself at just about any tailgate. For the most part, we're friendly folks and will welcome you to join us in tailgating. Remember, everything in Boone is "uphill both ways" (yes, your parents were right). Wear good walking shoes and layer your clothing. The temperature difference between a tailgate in the sun and halftime can be dramatic. Travel safely, Trojans. See you at The Rock!

Norm fresh off an adjustment of his Prozac and home blended hemp therapy predicts a high of 49 and a bit wet. He said he felt good because he knew a goat at the Cincinnati zoo where he grew up and said SHE was a finalist in their homecoming court one year and that this late in the season is goat breeding time and many of the players may be a bit tired by the end of the game. Norm predicts a 27-23 Trojan victory on this special weekend at App St.
