Troy looked awesome!!
Cunningham is really getting it done. He has really taken Troy to new heights in his six season as coach.

I've stated before, I'm not a basketball expert...never played, don't understand the intricacies of the game like I do football. That said, we may the worst offensive rebounding team I've ever seen. It seems we rarely, if ever, have bodies moving to the basket to follow up shots. This isn't a new phenomenon, the same was true last season. If I'm wrong, somebody tell me.

Trojan Arena - $28million
Winning seasons - 2 (One of them was Maestri)
I'd be happier with a good coach at Sartain than Cunningham at Trojan Arena.

Your observations are correct. Troy isn't aggressive getting rebounds. The poor rebounding was hard to watch. But it wasn't the rebounds that put them in a hole all game long. It was the poor shooting. Mainly, Troy is taking WAY too many three-point shots this season, primarily because they aren't good at moving the ball around against decent defensive teams, and they're having to take three-pointers because of it. They're not being very creative when it comes to moving the ball inside the paint. Once again, this is all on coaching. A well coached team isn't going to be strategically inept on offense like this. Chanda Rigby's ladies rebound more aggressively and work the ball around way better than the men.

Never going to improve with Cunningham coaching but this administration has made it crystal clear that it accepts mediocrity in mens basketball (Rigby could win if they played in Wright Hall) and the Arena is so we can have nice graduations

I wonder if the men and women ever scrimmage each other? How about let Rigby coach both teams. Guarantee she doubles the wins of Cunningham

I'll be more swayed after 20+ Games and we still can't get an offensive rebound or three. Did any of you listen to Phil's postgame radio interview? He'd most likely agree with 90% of your observations on this game. Fans? Huge difference between a fan and a critic. There's room for both. But not in a public forum that our athletes read. If you've not already done, call Dr Hawkins and let him know your feelings about coaching. BTW, the Arena, FWIW was about $50 big ones and is proving to be a worthwhile multipurpose Facility. Sartain sucked. We attended two games there over 10 years. I respect that Sartain held memories for many Alums but , for many reasons, it was time to move on.

Okay, $50million, the point just hits harder. I can agree with my boss that I messed up, but his only concerns are 1. How am I going to fix it, and 2. How many times have I messed up. If criticism of the program isn't accepted here then it shouldn't be public.

Who else is at fault other than the coach? He recruited the players, he coaches them. This it's not the coaches fault sounds just like the same old group from 2011-14...Rowell is a great DC his players dont execute, We dont have a locker room so we can't recruit, and on and on. NB and VK come in and win with the same players and locker room. Coaching matters and PC has not done his job....period. I'll give him the 17 season when GA St was down and the whole conference was a dumpster fire but 4 loosing seasons out of 5? Only in Troy is that accepted

I agree this team has struggled and the shooting has been lackluster but to say we haven’t gotten offensive rebounds is not true. Had 16 against USM to their 10, 14 against Pitt to their 8, etc.

At halftime, USM was shooting 56% and draining 3's, Trojans 23%. Our only bright spot on the O was #12 Charles Norman, a recent transfer I think. He came off the bench in the second half and was lights out on three consecutive 3's then a foul shot in the span of about 2 minutes. I'd like to see more of that young man. Phil mentioned in the post-game interview that the team needs an on-court personality to spark the team. I think he's got a couple on the bench.

We had a great coach in that dump and won championships everyother year. We have a below average coach in a palace and lose consistently. When was our last Sunbelt regular season title? Oh that's right. Somebody call Don. If Kansas State can unretire its legend coach, so can we. Waste of a great venue if you ask me. USM plays in a homeless shelter and has better athletes.

Wasted a lot of talent and resources too. I agree with you hire Rigby as our next head coach.
