Smith getting more comfortable and productive, it seems like it’s his job to lose now.
His deep balls are outstanding. Barker is somewhat more accurate though.
The QB battle next year is going to be ridiculous! Both deserve to start. However, I think if Smith continues to produce and keeps improving like this, he will be our starter next season. You cannot just take it away from him...

I say redshirt KB to make sure he gets fully healthy. I know some guys take less time to heal and some take longer. But with running being his weapon the extra could really help. Just listen to what he's said about Kaleb when it happened in high school. Also look at JDF how he looked last year trying to come back and we eventually redshirted him. The nice thing is we could still play him in big games as a weapon.

Think about this: Does anyone remember Gardner Minshew? He signed with Troy, Coach Browns 1st season. Very smart kid who finished High School early and was able to participate in Spring drills before he actually graduated high school. Because of Brandon Silvers being a lock for the starting position, he transferred to North West community college. Won a national championship and then went to East Carolina. Transfered to Washington State who is a top 10 contender. Has passed for 3800 yds this season with Mike Leach. Where would Troy be if that kid would have stuck around. Damion will have to put on some weight but he should get a great shot at the NFL - just the ability to high point the ball and the things he can do with his boy while in the air - very fun to watch

Just because you started doesn't mean you have the position locked downed...unless you are Tom Brady, Payton Manning, Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Terry Bradshaw, Drew Brees, Roger Staubach or John Elway. All other QBs earn their job every year

Minshew is going great things, but he might not have been the best fit in our offense. We won the conference without him, and lack of a QB is the least of our problems right now.

We now have some equivalent starters even though we might lack a little depth with Power 5 schools.

This season, so far, has proven that "Next Man Up", a combination of depth and superior coaching to cover the injured, suspensions, quitters etc. Just take a look at the August 31 roster and compare. Amazing personnel management.

Neal Brown and his staff went toe to toe with Orgeron and Frost and came out on top. I hope he isn't headed to Louisville, but we have a good reputation he has helped us build to get a capable replacement if that happens.

Whether he accepts will be seen. Bigger concern for me is losing VK. Imo he is 50% of our success

Amazing personnel management. By my count: Henderson, Perkins, Samuel, Bridges, and Lucky could have all been superstars here. Bridges will be back, but I think his is academics, not sure. Kaleb Barker is out for the season. Marcus Jones, Deondre Douglas, Cedarius Rookard (three all conference guys), and Marcus Webb have been out during the year with injuries. If we get everyone healthy, we will not only beat APP, we will clobber them and whoever else in the bowl game. This is the time of year we really get hot, and having a full roster will be unstoppable.

I'ts going to be COLD at App and they have had snow games. Unlikely we play in the snow but anything is possible in dem dar hills lol. Going to be one of the biggest Sun Belt games in our history. What we don't need to do is being looking past The Armadillos and pull a A Mr.Potato Head/Hello Kitty/Fighting Falwells. Crush The Armadillos and carry that into the Banjo Boys

After a bit of search, he graduated ECU in Dec 2017, left the program Urban Meyer style (Family issues) then surfaced at Washington State as a 5th year Grad student this past summer (I guess the Cougars offer resolved the family issues). It appears he only started 5 games at ECU last year, alternating with 5th year Grad transfer Thomas Sirk (Duke). ECU posted a 1-4 record with Gardner at the helm, losing 3 of the last 4 games. He's tearing it up in the PAc-12 this year at Pullman, WA. Doubt if he's a candidate for Heisman tho'. Hard to imagine that we'd a done better than Brandon Silvers at the Trojans helm the last three years. Brandon lead the Trojans to a 21-5 record his last two years, including two Bowl wins.
