The feel of this game is intense so far. Good hitting defenses.

Umm yeah, these two teams are for real. Buckle up cause it’s going to be a fight the rest of our schedule.

Zach Thomas App's starting qb has been out for the past two series.

This is an entertaining game. Both of these teams are going to be tough. The triple option is tough to stop.

Zach Thomas App's starting qb has been out for the past two series. He looked mad when he came out of the tent. He took a forearm to the face on the opening series and had to be helped off the field. If I had to guess, i'd say he's been entered into a concussion protocol.

At this time, there's 2:21 left in the first half and this game has not gone like I thought it would. App can get nothing going. We better be ready when we travel to Statesboro and Boone, or we'll be bringing home 2 losses.

I've been watching on and off, and I'm struck by the number of penalties being called. Especially against App. I think there were three in a row just as I turned back. I didn't think they were going to be able to back them up any further.
Looks like GA Southern are finding themselves again. They were never a bad team. Just had to suffer through some bad coaching for awhile. App is suffering from losing their starting QB. Offense definitely doesn't look like its normal self. We're going to have good, hard games against both these teams.

Oh man. Gata has now opened up the run game. Up by 17. App has about 20 minutes left in their #25 ranking.

We have the toughest schedule left of the 3. They are getting each other out of the way tonight and we got to go to their houses.
We best hit on all phases of the game to beat them and Louisiana. If we want to grace the field for the 1st annual conference championship game honestly we need to pull a hat trick and that will take supreme discipline. We could easily end up with 7 wins or hell 6 wins we we pull a Liberty vs. Tx St.
App has made mistakes tonight and had a case of the ranked’s but these 2 teams are both still damn good.
Edit: Both are damn good if Apps starting QB returns.

I'm thinking Gata will be ranked after this. Their only loss is to Clemson. With their next game at ULM, they could actually keep the ranking until we meet them.

Don't worry Georgia Southern if ranked will not pull a Troy/AppSt.

GaSo has always been a good team. A few bad years because of bad coaching doesn't take that away, and they've owned us since they came into the conference. Even in their down years. It should be a good game when we go, and it's going to be just as tough as it's always been, especially if their secondary is as good as I've heard it is.

They’ve beaten us three times since they joined the Belt but look at the movement in those games: Neal’s 1st year - LBs players, embarrassing loss during a four win year Neal’s 2nd year - Mostly still not his talent or system, bad loss during a historically successful year. Neal’s 3rd year - NB’s folks are coming on board, four point heartbreak (i was there. That’s as much the refs victory as GaSo’s) Neal’s 4th year - Win All the sudden Troy fans are supposed to genuflect to Georgia Southern? No thanks.

I almost went to Georgia Southern. Took my visit there and everything but something about Erk Russell scared me. At the game I attended he met the recruits with that bald head and cigar in his mouth and I had heard the stories of him head butting players at Georgia. I had played for the toughest high school coach who ever coached and I wasn't sure I wanted another 4 years of it. Turns out he was tough but the players loved him and they won a ton of Nat Championships there. All the respect for that program

I can respect the program (which I do) without liking them (and I don’t). They quite likely cost us a natty by beating us in the first round of the ‘95 playoffs at the end of an unbeaten regular season. I still see that pass to the SW corner of The Vet in my mind. No liking them from me. No sir. Not a chance.

All the respect for that program When I lived in Baxley, GA, the local Savannah TV station would replay old Georgia Southern games with Erk Russell commenting. One game was when they barely beat Troy. The only way I can identify which game it was, was their bus broke down on the way.
Russell just kept commenting on Troy. I bet he said a dozen times. "Boy were they tough".

Don't know about all time record, just the more current Sunbelt doings. Except for the Rowell game that gets brought up. LoL. My point was people (not necessarily here) were talking about them like they were the whipping boy of the conference when everyone should know that isn't true. They're finding their footing after going through some of the same issues we did, and we're finally going to start seeing full strength GASO vs full strength Troy. I'm not sure that's actually happened since they joined the Sunbelt, which reflects in the game info you listed as they trended down while we trended up. I respect them and what they're capable of and I'm looking forward to a hard fought game. Though I'd prefer we lead the whole time, and like with all games I expect a win.
