You should schedule BYU. Liberty is a fellow fundamentalist school. I know a guy from my HS that had a football scholarship to Liberty. Ended up transferring to Emory and Henry Va due to the strict rules at Liberty, Assuming it hasn't changed much since then. (Late 80s) It's changed a ton in the last 6 or so years. LU hosts BYU in 2022 and we play them at their place next year. Our future schedules: 2019 Aug. 31 vs. Syracuse Sept. 7 at Louisiana Sept. 14 vs. Buffalo Sept. 21 vs. Hampton Sept. 28 vs. New Mexico Oct. 5 at New Mexico State Oct. 19 vs. Maine Oct. 26 at Rutgers Nov. 2 at UMass Nov. 9 at BYU Nov. 23 at Virginia Nov. 30 vs. New Mexico State 2020 Sept. 5 at Virginia Tech Sept. 12 vs. North Carolina A&T Sept. 19 at Western Kentucky Sept. 26 vs. FIU Oct. 3 at Bowling Green Oct. 10 vs. Louisiana - Monroe Oct. 17 at Syracuse Oct. 24 vs. Southern Miss Nov. 7 at Virginia Nov. 14 vs. Western Carolina Nov. 21 at NC State Nov. 28 vs. UMass 2021 Sept. 4 vs. Campbell Sept. 11 at Troy Sept. 18 vs. Old Dominion Sept. 25 at Syracuse Oct. 2 at UAB Oct. 9 vs. Middle Tennessee Oct. 16 at Louisiana - Monroe Oct. 23 at North Texas Nov 6 vs. UMass Nov. 13 at Ole Miss Nov. 20 vs. Louisiana Nov. 27 vs. Army 2022 Sept. 3 at Southern Miss Sept. 10 vs. UAB Sept. 17 at Wake Forest Sept. 24 at Old Dominion Oct. 22 vs. BYU Oct. 29 at UMass Nov. 19 vs. Virginia Tech 2023 Sept. 2 vs. Bowling Green Sept. 9 at Coastal Carolina Sept. 16 at Buffalo Oct. 14 at Marshall Nov. 11 vs. UMass 2024 Aug. 31 vs. Coastal Carolina Oct. 5 vs. Marshall Oct. 19 at North Carolina Nov. 16 at UMass 2025 Aug. 30 vs. Wake Forest Sept. 6 vs. Western Kentucky Sept. 20 at Army Oct. 4 at Georgia Southern Nov. 1 vs. UMass Nov. 22 at Duke Impressive schedule. Much better than Troy’s. There Admin knows what they are doing.

Much better than Troy’s. There Admin knows what they are doing. Our scheduling is impacted by our conference affiliation, a restriction Liberty doesn’t have. That doesn’t mean I think that’s a negative. In fact, I believe the opposite is true. Being in a conference has allowed us to develop rivalries which, has imcreased fan interest and has allowed us to participate in post season play. Make no mistake, we wouldn’t be playing post season as an independant. To compare our schedule with Liberty’s is to compare apples to oranges.

That's why I said our conference affiliation was a positive.

I just gave them a complement because their schedule is impressive for a 1st year FBS team. Never mentioned anything else. But yes, Troy has to be in a conference, nobody wants to travel to us.

In no way did I criticize your post, I only pointed out that because of conference affiliation, we have restrictions they don't. I didn't call you out nor did I criticize you, your momma or your dog. If you think my post requires a "simmer down", then you need to get a life, dude.

Liberty could go 12-0 & not go to a bowl unless the sunbelt or AAC can't fill their commitments. Troy got left out of the bowl picture after the first sunbelt championship because there was not game for us to go to. But at least there is hope.

It is not much, but we do have a limited bowl tie-in with the Cure Bowl.
Being an independent has proven to be much easier for us than we expected when we were granted the exemption. Thanks again to the Belt for helping us land that waiver.

Liberty and my guess would be Lamar or Missouri State. Both would more than an upgrade in all sports. Some talk of Lamar but their football has struggled. Beaumont has some neat to it. UTA could start up its program again.

Kennessaw State in north metro Atlanta is starting to get my attention. Very nice area adjacent to where the Atlanta Braves stadium is in Marietta. Better road trip than Georgia State
