Beating LSU and Nebraska in consecutive years will do wonders for us recruiting wise, there must be a multiplier effect. We now can tell recruits that the LSU win wasn't a fluke and that Troy is a giant killer. Next year, when we go to Mizzou the media will almost expect us to win this game.
Also, last year's win got a lot of press, we were on the front (web) pages of SI, CBSSports, ESPN, etc, but this year, it's more like just another Troy upset just happened... if we beat Mizzou next year, it won't be shocking... this would be a good sign, similar to when Boise St beats Oregon St or Washington St, its not exactly news anymore.
So, I am curious to see how the LSU & Nebraska wins will effect recruiting and overall media coverage.
What we need to do now is, win the rest of our games and break into the Top 25, and stay there! If we want to be compared to Boise St, UCF, Houston, Memphis, BYU etc - we absolutely need to do this. Being a giant killer is cool and all but we need to be a Top 25 program!

Today’s stupid CBS poll has us 28 spots below App St, three spots below Ga So and TWO SPOTS BELOW NEBRASKA of all people!

These pollsters are probably related to the pollsters who once declared a Bama team with 3 or 4 losses as National Champions.

The OOC wins are great, but some of these schools will try to pick an easier opponent to play for a sure W eventually

The question is does the Boise blowout offset the Nebraska win. Hopefully we'll get a bump in recruiting in the coming weeks.

The Boise loss hurt. We have a strength of schedule issue. It is what it is. Just keep winning and the ranking will come someday.

I’m just hoping this is the year we finally slay the dragon that haunts us after big OOC wins

Anyways, no more big upsets until 2021 possible. Beating Missouri again wouldn’t be that much of a big deal and beating NC State (2020) at home would be really nice but not comparable to beating LSU & Nebraska. So next big possible scalp could be South Carolina in 2021.
EDIT I just realized we still have to schedule a 2020 money game

The whole system is stacked against schools like Troy. UCF is a much larger school than Troy, they go 13-0 and still didn't get a legit shot at a title. If we went 12-0 we might get a New Years Six Bowl but it would still be hard due to the fact we couldn't put that many butts in seats for the big boys taste sadly.

Maybe next year, we will return a ton and add some transfers for sure. The schedule is favorable, we just need to keep our coaches. Some of the other top G5s might be somewhat rebuilding next year, Boise St, UCF, Fighting Kiffins - but you never know, other G5s might show up, App St, NIU, and esp Hawaii with their top Soph QB will likely have good teams next year.

2019 Missouri Tigers Football Schedule Aug. 31 at Wyoming (Laramie, Wyo.) Sept. 7 vs. West Virginia Sept. 14 vs. Southeast Missouri Sept. 21 vs. South Carolina Sept. 28 BYE Oct. 5 vs. Troy Oct. 12 vs. Ole Miss (Homecoming) They will have an extra week to prepare for us but sometimes it can be a disadvantage to have a bye week... Funny fan reaction: "Dear Lord, they scheduled TROY!" www.secrant.com/rant/mizzou-sports/2019-football-schedule-dates-announced/78845609/

As long as UCF has Milton McKenzie they will win. Kid is the most exciting player to watch in college football and one heck of a qb. I assure you, Frost would give up half his salary to have that kid at Nebraska

We already have a home win against Missouri. Remember the miracle fumble recovery in that game?
