There has been talk of moving Senior Bowl for years but hasn't happened. It is part of Mobile. You will be hard pressed to get 40,000 people to show up to a college all-star game anywhere else They are not going to go if that POS stadium is falling down making the facility unusable and unsustainable. The Senior Bowl will never move to USA campus and their stadium or any other college campus. They will move it to Wide World of Sports Disney, where indoor and outdoor facilities DWARF that of Mobile and Ladd Pebbles. Watch for that to happen - may already be in the works. They will move to that south stadium quickly! Again no reason to leave Mobile when you aren’t going to get a crowd elsewhere. The game isn’t what it used to be. Plus, they would not go to wide world of sports. That is a Disney property which is owned by ABC/Espn which does not have rents k the game. It is an NFL network game. Also the game is OWNED by the Mobile Arts and Sports Association

Guess we look at things differently. Just don’t understand why people believe you are going to make an impact on surpressing the competition. The quicker people realize that others have more advantages than us the quicker you can develop to counter them. I think your philosophy is one of small time thinking, it’s thinking on a lower level. If you want Troy to have the best facilities in a conference and dominate every game you would advocate to go down to I-AA level. If your path to victory is to beat down and surpress your competition rather than lift up your program than you will never succeed. Recruits follow winning. As long as our facilities are on par we will be fine. Now with our our Endzone facility we are good (for now) Just because South get a new stadium doesn’t mean they steal everyone’s recruits and suddenly dominate the SBC. They can only give out 20 something scholarship a year, just like everyone else. Next step: completely reburish the Home side of stadium. After that: Indoor practice. Tell all of that to south, they're the ones living in that world. South hates us!South thinks we don’t deserve to have sports at Troy. One of the main things I have against souths stadium is having senior bowl and dollar general bowl there.that gives national attention to south and kids pay attention to that. And them having a newer stadium will be like we have a ps4 and the ps5 just came out.Kids pay attention to that as well. And do you think auburn is really happy for Alabama because they are starting $600 million dollar upgrades for their facilities.Just being on par is not good enough.you don’t play or build facilities to be on par.you do those things to be the best you can be.

This is not how things work. If they got a brand new $70M on-campus stadium, they would have better facilities than us and get definitely more attention. Recruits would start looking harder at USA. This combined with some decent success would allow them to land even better recruits. All they need is to land the next Jernigan or Pat White (or both!), or some top Mobile area kid who couldn't get into Auburn and not interested in leaving the state of AL. Maybe, a recruit who would otherwise sign with Troy. Being in Mobile with more success and better facilities, USA would probably move to another conference such as AAC or an improved CUSA, eventually stop playing Troy altogether. This would automatically make Troy #5 in AL / UAB is not sleeping either (currently we are the #3 program in AL). Our status would be comparable to Eastern Michigan in MI. So, no I don't want them to get what they want, because this would mean that they could leave us behind in the long run. Looks like it will take them now some more years to build this stadium and they will also build a smaller version of it! Much better deal for us! Guess we look at things differently. Just don’t understand why people believe you are going to make an impact on surpressing the competition. In sports winner takes all, besides there is no true in-state G5 rivalries in CFB. I can't think of any. Maybe in TX and in the past you had Utah vs BYU (before Utah went P5, and BYU indy). What usually happens is that the in-state P5 teams remain on top while the G5 teams cannibalize each other.

Nothing more boring from a game stand point than all star football games. The NFL would probably sponsor the game even it was played at a high school stadium. Even though they are boring, I still miss watching the blue/grey game on Christmas Day. That was a tradition with me growing up and in 1990 got to watch one of my high school teamates play in it on TV. Ernie Mills was then drafted in the 4th round by the Steelers and played 8 years in the NFL and started in the 1996 Super Bowl

The NFL isn't just looking for a stadium, they're looking for surrounding facilities for family/fan events and exhibits. I don't deny that south could provide those, but I just don't think the NFL wants to be in Mobile any more.

Just a reminder, the NFL has its "all-star" game already, its hosted by the NFLPA and is every year here in Pasadena at the Rose Bowl its called the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, ....they use both the Senior Bowl and the NFLPA game to scout. Actually, Silvers had an invite last year but turned it down to show up at the Senior Bowl. link
