Quick question for us out of towner Boise State fans; where do we park for the game? There will be parking along George Wallace Dr. (street the stadium is on) for around $10-20. Well with in walking distance of the stadium. There will also be parking in the neighborhoods that surround the stadium, again $10-20 per slot. If you are staying at one of the local hotels, the Troy Shuttle runs through each (I believe) and leave the driving to Troy. The bus lets you out at the Alumni House and you can join us at the Emerald Coast Alumni Tailgate (where THE BEST TAILGATE ON CAMPUS is held - IN THE BACK YARD). Lots of choices but I warn you, DO NOT PARK in a "permit only area" they will ticket/tow your car if you are not careful. Get there early, see and enjoy our campus, it is BEAUTIFUL (but I am biased) and then join us for some great Southern Style Tailgating, you WILL NOT be disappointed. Come to the house, walk to the back yard, ask ANYONE where the Emerald Coast Tailgate is located and they will point you in the right direction. Hope to see you in Troy! HAVOC!

I know there are a ton of ex football players coming. Shame they couldn't do the players reunion for this game instead of stupid FAM Who the following week. As far as former players it will be, I predict the largest turnout ever (sigh) always finding the negative in the positive. Same ole, same ole. Not finding the negative. Many of us are coming from a long way away and had to decide between the two games. With the turnout they will have and some former players that haven't attended in a while, it would be a great opportunity

I'm kinda of with others on this, I don't think the players would get the attention paid to them that they deserve. A reunion should be just that, a re-uniting if you will. The fact that many are choosing to come to the Boise game and possibly forgoing their special day reunion speaks to their choice. Seems as though some would rather come to the "big game" than be recognized by the school. In some cases, they may want their cake and eat it too. Unfortunately our Athletic Staff is stretched pretty thin (for whatever reasons) on game day. To add whole new series of events that would cater to players of the past (tour the end zone facility, have a dinner or luncheon, golf tournament, special gathering with the coaches and athletics director, have the chancellor meet with the alumni players, bringing them onto the field, etc, etc) might just explode their circuit breaker panel.

This reminds me of the year we opened the arena on a Friday night vs Miss. State then the next day hosted Navy in football. The staff in the athletic dept had circuit breakers that were sizzling for sure

Just found out that Boise has sold ALL of their allotted tickets, 500, and the expectation is that Athletics will close the deal on another 2/3000 in the next week and they anticipate a a walkup crowd of around the same. Belief is that this will be a sell-out.
So, we shall see - ELECTRIC ATMOSPHERE should be on tap for the day.

I fully understand how busy the athletic dept will be. Most former players could care less about going out on the field. Every former player has been a part of building the football tradition we have and most played when the facilities were not very good. Redwaver dressed in a hut up by Pace Field, myself and Doc71 dressed in the old Davis Field House and lifted weights in the basement of Sartain. All of us are swelling with pride that this has finally happened. Many of us chose to attend the Boise game because it's a big game and also because it will be the first game they run out of the tunnel. It would be nice if they could allow the former players to see it Friday night or Sat morning (they already showed it to the international students). I'm sure they will at FAMU but there is a large number of us that can't attend both. I have former teamates flying in for this game. It will be I believe the largest turnout of former players. It is what it is. I will still be swelling with pride as they run out of the new complex and hope to see it in the Spring if I'm able to attend. Go Troy!!!

Ok here goes my $ .02. I may take some shots for yelling "Get off my lawn" over part of what I have to say, but I think if everyone takes a moment to think about it, they'll realize I'm not really yelling that. Here goes.
I can't wait to see The Vet sold out. I've anticipated that happening every year since the expansion (that's 15 years for you newbies). We've played Marshall, Missouri, Duke, MS State, Navy, AL State...all of which had the potential to sell out the venue and we haven't done it yet. I hope this is the game. I want to see 30,400+ at the corner of Wallace Dr and University. I want to see The Vet rock, I want to have problems getting into traffic when the game is over and I want to see bumper to bumper traffic all the way back to Dothan. I want a big time feel to this game. To that end, let me say this. If you plan to be at this game, come prepared to be involved. Don't come to sit on your hands and give a polite golf clap when TROY does something great. Don't plan to sit for 4 hours and complain if those around you don't (for those of you who have physical conditions that limit your ability to stand, please disregard this). Don't come and plan to have polite conversation with those around you. I want the noise in the stadium to require that I scream to my wife and whomever sits on the other side of me in order for them to hear me, but I don't want that to be caused by PA noise. I want to feel like I've been to a big time, southern, college football game, because believe me fellow TROJANS, that's what we will have on our hands September 1. As TROJANS, we can do this. We can make The Vet one of the most intimidating small venues in the country. Who's with me?
HAVOC! And let slip the dogs of war!

I agree with you, but there'll be your Bamers and Barners listening to their respective games... Plus the blue hairs that tell us "whippersnappers" to sit down and shut up. I was almost escorted out of the stadium last year by police for cheering, because the old folks didn't like it. The only reason I wasn't is, because Hemi stepped in and defended me. Until the blue hairs die or leave you won't have the atmosphere that you want.

I've been a stadium club member since its inception, WOULD NOT give up my tickets until they are priced so outrageous that I can not longer afford (something that I have dreamed about). Please DO NOT GROUP ALL stadium club holders as "hand sitters" or "BAMMERs (others) looking for a TV" or "BLUE HAIRS" or any other nondescript group of folks. While there may be those that sit, I have YET to see anyone get accosted for standing and yelling or any other of that nonsense. Lots of passionate fans in the Stadium Club that pay good money for those amenities. For those of you that want to continue to put us down, talk about how we aren't "up to being real fans" and all that other BS, SAVE IT! Because WE don't meet your standards of 'fandom' doesn't make us NOT WORTHY! Especially from some that only come to one or two games a year, then tries to explain how others should act!! WHO ARE YOU to define what fans should or shouldn't do or how to act or not act as fans at a football game! So, I will sit in my stadium club seats, or in the press box if my spouse and guests want climate control or wherever else we decide to watch the game. Hope you do the same and pay attention to the game, not where all of the fans are sitting or not sitting, clapping or not clapping, cheering or not cheering loud enough. ENJOY - SMDH

I was able to do season tickets while my kids were at Troy but since losing my father and being a small family business I'm able to attend 1-2 games a year. No disrespect to any fans in SC just pointing out I didn't have a good experience. Got a former teamate who him and his wife have done SC over 10 years now. No offense meant
