Spring practice is almost here and the upcoming QB battle is the most anticipated since Levi vs Jamie. Of course, it will be decided in late August and not now.
Sawyer Smith vs Kaleb Barker
Barker is more similar to Silvers IMO, while Smith seems a bit more mobile and the former UCF commit was highly recruited out of hs. Barker has little more experience.
I think it's wide open. There is no way to predict who will win the starting job.
Would coach Brown consider trying a two-QB system?
Sawyer Smith
Kaleb Barker

I agree this will be an exciting battle! I would actually expect to see both playing a good bit. One disagreement your analysis ... Barker is really the opposite of Silvers. Brandon was pocket passer ... not very mobile. Barker is pure athlete ... who has improved his passing. If I recall from when he first arrived, coaches said he's one of the fasted players on the team. I even remember at the signing party, Coach Vic said something like, "he's great athlete. We'll give him shot at QB ... but he's gonna make one helluva Safety!" Smith is more of the pure Dual-Threat QB ... Barker has made himself one. Very excited to watch it unfold ... I hope they both excel!

I agree, I pobably should have said, Smith is "more elusive" instead of "more mobile".

Both bring great dynamics,it will come down to who can throw strikes I agree, they should go with the deep vertical threat.

My prediction is the better passer gets the nod. Our run game is as big a question mark as qb. We have talent there but it will be seen if we have the leadership of Chun and especially Anderson, not to mention there size and strength, especially in short yardage. I think we will need a good vertical passing game much more so than prior years. Henderson has the talent, attitude and head will determine his success and I'm anxious to see how the big juco back compares to Chun and Anderson

So did my first blind date in college... how did that work out?? Not.
