We wouldn’t be talking about attendance if we had made even half the hire we got in Women’s Basketball. The Women’s team deserves far better attendance. You can blame NOBODY for not turning out for a Men’s game. Attendance will continue to struggle until we decide to properly invest in Basketball. Dunno. The team appeared lethargic and couldn't manage the ball. Shots failed to land as Troy, led for 18:16 of the game, but fell behind with 7:08 to play and made just two baskets over the next six minutes of action. Troy shot 41.6 percent (32-77) from the field, but made just 7 of 25 shots from 3-point range (28 percent). Free-throw % a paltry .636, and fell to a (8-20, 4-13) Sunbelt Team. Troy Ladies at Ga State tonight. Fire this Coach?? No. I haven’t called for anyone to be fired nor will I. My only point being until we decide to invest more in Basketball, attendance will continue to be abysmal. The post was intended for the ones complaining about attendance.

Just stating my opinion.

I’m pretty sure you can guess my thoughts on those people. . so, for instance say a Troy Alum, that gives money to the program, promotes it and loves it but happens to live in Louisiana where they own several businesses: there comments concerning attendance and the state of a program on a message board built around Troy athletics arent valid because they live hours and hours away and can’t make games. That viewpoint is sad, ignorant and typical of a local with a small time mentality. And counter productive to building a bigger fan base and growing alumni support. But maybe that is some “fans” on here want, for Troy to stay small time. Stop thinking the glass is always half empty and quit trying to bring down alumni/fan support.

If you’re that concerned with attendance at basketball games, buy tickets and donate them to a local organization that can get them into the hands of people that would otherwise be unable to attend. I can assure you any tickets I don’t use end up in the hands of people that want to attend. Stop whining on a message board.

Obvious you do not own your own business and have employees. Always thinking and commenting on the small time thinking. And yes I have donated many tickets in the past, to no avail for basketball. Because you have to win! What you don’t get is you want people on here and on social media engaged and talking about Troy, as many as possible. Yes some of it will be negative. Old saying: no such thing as bad press. Most people want thousands of people talking about Troy athletics knowing there will be some negative, whiny and complaining ( which is healthy). But you only want 10 people to come on here shooting and blowing rainbows, unicorns and pixie sticks up each other when talking about Troy. Life has both ups and downs. You are small time and a small time thinker. That’s ok, glad you support Troy but you will never see the bigger picture.

Just for clarification negativity is good unless it’s my perceived negativity about your constant negativity? Women have won back to back. Men won it last year. Did attendance grow? Will it? Chatter about Troy is great. On a message board to a lesser extent. Constant negativity from a handful of “anonymous” people on a message board really serves no purpose. Calling people names verifies how big time you are in your world? Whatever makes you feel better about yourself. You have to right to post negativity. I have the right to reply to it. Life’s tough. Get a helmet.

Small time, Big time, its all about Troy Athletics! As a Fan, I support publicly and air my dirt privately. College kids, including Troy athletes, read this crap here.. I do NOT want to detract from their efforts nor put their Coaches in a negative light. They got enough to deal with than reading some ALUMNI or FAN crap about how poor their Coach is etc. I post my dirt on the Warriors Board, at least 99% of those young athletes don't/can't access my dirt!! Yeah, you gotta "right" to post whatever stuff you want to say about poor coaching, attendance, facilities, fan attendance, shoulda, woulda, coulda etc, etc, and I may agree with you. But, publicly, cornhole is a supporter. A FAN!! Short for FANATIC! If you, Mr. St Florian, the self-appointed bizness whiz, run your business and air all your dirty laundry in the open, I can bet a buncha bucks you got personnel issues. But, I digress, that's NOT my bizness. You just stick to your (and others) line of public bashing, innuendo, and chastising others for showing support of these young athletes.. YOUR Troy Trojan program, you may well be aiding and abetting the mediocrity that you perceive in Troy Athletics. If, however you wanna make a difference, DON'T give these kids a reason to second-guess their Coaches, etc by publicly pointing out flaws, short-comings etc. Join me on the more private Warrior Board and I may share some surprising insights that I have about the same issues. Hemi would as well! He will NOT publicly bash Coaches, fan attendance, shoulda , woulda, coulda because he has a larger picture of WHO reads this crap and how it affects morale, efforts and commitments to Troy Athletics. Whew, cornhole never post so much.

There are many Troy alumni who live 6+ hours from Troy. Many, and I know many, own businesses, work retail or other jobs that require you to work weekends. I am a small business owner that has a business that Saturday is our busiest and most profitable day. I take one weeks vacation a year plus 3 days for a annual mountain bike trip I do. I support and follow Troy athletics but my life doesn't revolve around attending every home and away football game, every home basketball and baseball game and conference tournaments. If you choose to do that, that is wonderful but critizing others who don't or can't is wrong. If attending every Troy game is requirements to be a Troy fan or supporter then you just limited yourself to a 20-50 mile radius, week nights and wekkends off and disposable income and no life. I have college teammates and friends that live as far away as DC, Ohio, South Florida, Kentucky, And Indiana to name a few. They proudly represent Troy University and support it but i guess since they don't attend games they aren't Troy supporters. We need Troy supporters any way we can. Attendance is great and I attend when I can which due to my business is now limited to one football game and a spring reunion and it costs with gas, food, and lodging around $250-$300 each trip and 12 hours of driving. Let's please not put a attendance requirement on being a Troy supporter or else we alienate 80% or more of our Alumni
