by Jeremy Wise When you ask Troy head coach Larry Blakeney about his thoughts on today’s T-Day scrimmage, you can easily tell what subject is at the forefront of his mind. “Maybe someone will assert himself, maybe one or two, at the quarterback position,” he answers quickly. After four years of the Corey Robinson era, the Trojans have to locate a new top signal caller, and through 14 practices, the jockeying for position continues. That is why much attention will be placed on what Brandon Silvers, Dontreal Pruitt, Dallas Tidwell and Connor Bravard do in today’s scrimmage, which will complete spring ball for the Trojans. It certainly has been a battle that has seen some movement already. Brandon Silvers started spring practices near the bottom of the rotation but it appears he has surged to the forefront of the battle after he started with the first team in last Saturday’s scrimmage. “I think Silvers has had the best spring to this juncture – looks like he’s becoming more comfortable,” Blakeney said after that scrimmage’s conclusion. For offensive coordinator Kenny Edenfield, though, the competition still remains open. “All four of them have done some really good things, and I think it’s starting to separate a little bit, but it’s still way too early to make any indication,” he said Monday. “The more work each of them gets, the better.” ( Full Article) iconTroy3
