Was Troy really an unprecedented upset?

I can't wait to play Nebraska. I am really curious how their new starting QB and the entire offense will perform early in the season (under the new coach and system)...
2018 Nebraska
Sep 1 Akron
Sep 8 Colorado
Sep 15 Troy
Sep 22 at Michigan
Frost will start a true freshman at quarterback

The most-important recruit Frost has landed at Nebraska so far is Adrian Martinez, a four-star dual-threat QB in the 2018 class.
Frost loves him.
“When I was evaluating quarterbacks a year ago around the country, he was my favorite one. His ability to run and throw and his maturity as a kid are going to serve him really well, and for the offense that we run, I didn’t think there was a better fit in the country,” Frost said.
There are more-veteran options in Patrick O’Brien and Tristan Gebbia, but no quarterback better fits Frost’s system than Martinez.

Nebraska's starting O-Line (overall pretty young, some returning starters will be Sophomores and they were highly ranked out of HS, still new system though):

Regardless, Frost made it clear on Signing Day that there is work to be done with Nebraska’s offensive linemen.
“I think we got guys on the team that can be great offensive linemen but we got to go to work in the weight room, we’ve got to cut our body fat, eat right, we’ve got to get stronger, we’ve got to get in better shape,” Frost said.
