ULM will return to the state of Alabama where this current nine-game losing streak started. After getting swept at Samford in Birmingham two weeks ago, the Warhawks now travel about two hours south to face Troy in their second week in Sun Belt play and try to start their first road conference series better than their home one. ULM was swept by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette last weekend in gaudy fashion with the Ragin’ Cajuns scoring 14 runs on Saturday and 21 on Sunday. The Warhawks (7-15) suffered an 18-2 loss in their lone midweek game at Southern Miss — one common opponent with Troy. The Trojans met Southern Miss earlier in the year in a weekend series with the Golden Eagles taking 2-of-3 with scores of 7-6 and 3-1. Troy won the Saturday game 5-0. The Trojans (12-9) enter their second week of conference 1-1 after splitting two with South Alabama — Sunday’s game was rained out but Troy won one game 5-0 and the Jaguars took the other 2-1. Troy is led by outfielders Trevin Hall and David Hall, who are hitting .325 and .317 respectively. Second baseman Garrett Pitts is hitting .302 and a team-high 15 RBI. The Trojans will send right hander Tanner Hicks to the mound for this evening’s game, beginning at 6 p.m. The senior is 2-2 on the year with a 2.13 ERA. The staff boasts an overall team ERA of 3.15 with its scheduled weekend starters all under 2.65. ( Full Article) iconTroy3
