The only reason I am posting this now is that it will take the social media types a little while to get this rolling if they choose to do so. So hang with me.
1) We win out and are 10-2 and at worst Co Champs of Belt 2) We get highest profile bowl. 3) MAC does not travel well 2 days prior to Christmas 4) FSU by playing ULM wins and is Bowl eligible 5) They are projected for Independence or something like that at 6-6 and would face an also ran for this year on a Wednesday mid week 6) They would have about 6,000 at best go to a bowl in Shreveport during mid week for a 12:30 kickoff even may have to face MUTS. 7)ESPN offers closer bowl say MOBILE so everyone that might could be home mid Christmas Eve day 8) FSU is not going to pass on being scared of Belt team 9) We would love a ACC team 10) Prime Time game on Saturday Night viewership much better than a mid week 6-6 match up... 11) MAC gets closer game....still sucky travel time but they would travel better than to Mobile.....Not by much... 12) Things a whole lot stranger than this have occurred.

Oddly enough, I just said to my wife wouldn't it be awesome if we somehow got FSU. If they get past ULM they'll be looking for an "easy win" bowl opponent...

Yes other bowl payout better but they would not have an excited base but still plenty of Nole fans to drive from the panhandle over. My guess would be 16-18 k and yes very exciting for our base. Troy would have max amount even with just prior to Christmas. You wind up having true 40k and probably pretty good game...Now all of this would be predicated on ESPN making switch but all of a sudden they have a game that would have 4.5-5 million viewers due to the prime on Sat and the potential for name recognition that the Noles would bring along with Troy the slayers of LSU...

Of the bowls ESPN has it would wind up being one of the 2-3 best....they are about advertising and now we just need a concerted social media idea that has Nole fans wanting to stay closer to home....And us to win out

Another chance at the Tygas and Crimanoles all in one season? DT would be so blissful.

All this sounds good but aren't all of our bowl tie ins against MAC and CUSA opponents only?

All this sounds good but aren't all of our bowl tie ins against MAC and CUSA opponents only? The Sun Blet only has 4 bowl tie ins and we currently have 4 bowl eligible teams with the possibility of 5 or 6. I think Troy might get to fill in for a conference that didn't have enough qualified teams and get a higher profile coference opponent. I'd like to get the Birmingham bowl against an SEC team.

We have 5 tie-ins, NOLA, Mobile, Montgomery, Cure (Orlando), Arizona True we have 4 eligible now, no doubt ULALA gets to 5 which screw ups EVERYTHING... idiots! I hate that school

Latest projection I saw was either Dollar General vs Toledo or New Orleans vs UAB. This is per ESPN. Troy vs UAB would be an entertaining game. Two fairly evenly matched opponents from the same state. Would rather play UAB than Toledo. A W would give us bragging rights in state, help us in recruiting etc.

A W would give us bragging rights in state, help us in recruiting etc. Playing midday in the middle of a six game schedule on the first day of bowl season would draw very little attention. The only game on Saturday night one week later would draw a large audience. Last year proved this. Much more credibility. And we are certainly capable of beating Toledo. Might be a tough trip for some fans but we showed up last year and the team would reap the rewards. I hope this is what it’s all about.

No question Mobile is a better matchup and time slot. NOLA needs to work on their agreement w/ SBC and CUSA

Even moving it out a week to same day as Mobile and having it late afternoon would draw much more attention and give it much more credibility. Pair it with a better group of 5 conference and we have two good bowl games. Baby steps to a better perception of the conference but I suppose it doesn’t hurt to dream.

Western Kentucky grad at work just popped in and said he thinks we are playing them in Birmingham. I said.. "If you want a beating for Christmas."

Even though contracted with bowls those operated by ESPN can pretty much swap out with some buy outs etc. The CUSA teams as opponents are all possibilities and would basically be same work by ESPN...Do not be surprised by a MAC team not being there.

Playing Louisiana Tech in New Orleans would be a good game and draw a big crowd. Just my opinion.

I think we are headed to Nola to play UAB
Hearing even if ULL wins 6 or 7 games they will go somewhere else

Regardless I will be at bowl wherever and whomever as long as some disaster does not occur.

Seems like they would want ULL for the crowd. They didn’t bring that many last year... I’ve heard from a couple in the know people who said they won’t be in it
