They are actually really low. The lower number has higher odds. Had we not lost to USA, he would probably be a further up the list.

I believe he and Vic work real well together and they will stay here another year then they both go with very nice contracts to same place

Stating obvious here - not sure any of us understand the current team - I guess maybe expectations were too high - meaning I thought we would see a more polished team HOWEVER we are 8-2 so it's been a great year and the D is STOUT no doubt
Having said this - I think we may have a better team next year than this year - I do think so Depth continues to build which is the real difference
We may struggle out of the gate but I expect close to the same results next year as current year

Troy has an SEC level defense very impressed. It’s good. But settle down their Cochise...... It's definitely SEC level. Likely middle of the pack. We may not have the depth of some of the those teams, but for at least three quarters our defense is better than at least 5 SEC teams that I can name off the top of my head. No way you can say that Ole Miss, Missouri, Vanderbilt, and Tennessee have better defenses than Troy. You can probably throw Florida and Texas A&M in that category. This defense can hang with nearly any offense in the country. Because we are so good at stopping the run, we force everyone into one dimensional game plans. For three quarters a piece LSU and Clemson (last season) could do nothing vs our defense. Boise struggled most of the game vs Troy. This is not something SBC or G5 defenses do - Vic Koenning is truly something special. www.cfbstats.com/2017/leader/national/team/defense/split01/category09/sort01.html

If we lose Brown, I wouldn’t be surprised if Brown tries to take Vic with him. Unless we offered him a HC job.
Troy would be owed nearly 3million dollars if Brown leaves before 2018. That’s a nice chunk of change. I’d be disappointed if he left but happy for that cash! I think it wouldn’t be a AAC level job that would come calling with that buyout.

I heard Mahlzon is going to Arkansas. Arkansas is a garbage job. They are looking to leave the SEC. If all you want is 2mil over 4 years and a firing, then it may be the right job. Tennessee may wise up and look at Brown. They just got handed a big fat NO by chucky

Tennessee wouldn't look at Brown and hopefully vice versa. From living in Knoxville I know they will want someone with ties to UT.

Depth is where we get hurt against top tier teams, that's why the problems don't show up until late in the game. This is one of the major problems faced by a quality G5 team and is one that I'm not sure will over be overcome on a consistent basis. FSU did it, Miami did it (I'm old enough to remember when neither of these schools were top level) but off the top of my head, I can't name another team in the last 40 years that made strides and maintained them for a long time. To be ranked as one of the top defenses in the country is, therefore, quite an achievement.

I think we could beat Arkansas Ole Miss Vandy Tennessee and maybe Missouri. At 11 1 we could have went to a bigger bowl. S Alabama loss hurt, but give them credit they might wind up 6-6. Would the jags then get a bowl bid?

Don’t forget to add Florida to your list of SEC schools that we could beat this year.

Don’t forget to add Florida to your list of SEC schools that we could beat this year. That depends on which team shows up. The one that showed up at LSU beats the lizards, the one that showed up for South would lose to FA Who and FI Who
