These are probably elementary questions but I’m just wondering how the standings are figured. Everyone keeps saying that Troy controls our own destiny. How does the SB championship work? If we win out then there could be three one loss teams. Would we all share the championship? Would we be ahead of stAte since we would have beat them head to head even though our records could be the same? I know we are in much better shape since App St lost but don’t we still need stAte and App to each lose one more?
Last question. In the standings we moved to #2 ahead of GAST and App but we have the same conference records. How does that work?

In the standings we moved to #2 ahead of GAST and App but we have the same conference records. How does that work? If 3 teams end tied at say 7-1, then there would be 3 co-champions. The SunBelt doesn't have any tiebreaker rules to determine the conference championship. The only thing App and stAte losing an additional game would do is make us outright champs. Either way TROY has to win out for a conference championship. Next year for the 2018 season, it will be completely different with the implementation of a true championship game between division leaders. I am sure in the current standings, we are listed ahead of the other 1 loss in confernce teams because of our overall record.

App will lose another game or two the way they are playing.
