TROY, Ala. (AP) Jeff Mullahey poured in a career-high 27 points to lift Troy to an 85-81 upset win over Georgia State on Saturday.
Troy (9-15, 4-8 Sun Belt Conference) led most of the game but had to repel a Georgia State push that tied the game at 75 with 2:20 to go. Antoine Myers kept Troy on top with a layup, Mullahey added a jumper, and 6-for-10 shooting from the penalty stripe preserved the win while handing the Panthers (17-7, 10-1) their first conference loss of the season.
Tevin Calhoun contributed 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Myers had 15 points for the Trojans, who shot 49 percent from the field and held a 38-32 rebounding advantage in snapping Georgia State's 14-game winning streak.
R.J. Hunter led the Panthers with 26 points, Manny Atkins added 18, Ryan Harrow 15 and Devonta White 11. Georgia State remains atop the conference despite the loss.
