What would be the reason that the football team did not receive a bowl ring this year. See all the other team receiving theirs and the Trojans are not getting any love. Man that has to hurt!!

I'm pretty sure Troy only gives out rings for championships.

We are Rebuilding The Wall right and with 10 wins (Record), Top 25 (Record) and winning a big Bowl Game, I would think that the Troy administration and coaching staff would of worked together on making this happen. Great for the players and something to show off when it comes to the fan base and the recruiting. Miss the boat on this one.

Win your conference you earn a ring, earn a Nat Championship you earn a ring. Bowl Game you can go to as a 6-6 team and actually last year there were a couple of 5-7 teams. Rings need to be something very special that is earned. A bowl game is still a accomplishment just not ring worthy IMO

Oh wow. DT would love to hear Saban's take on this one.
This malarkey is 100% due to the every kid gets a trophy culture.
Rings are for champions. Bowl games are a prize for a decent to good season.

They had a very good season, but did ultimately fall short of their goal.

if they are not getting rings due to budget, what's the problem? Was it not the largest attendance in history or at least top 5. I have no problem with a ring since they are the Dollar General Bowl Champions.
If they budget is a problem, get them a ring from Dollar General - :-0

If they budget is a problem, get them a ring from Dollar General - :-0 So do we give them a ring if they win the conference? Do we then give another ring if they win a bowl game? What about if they go to a bowl but don't win? Rings are for championships. Make it for winning your conference or else that loses its luster. A team going 6-6 and winning a lower bowl game is not ring worthy. Earn the rings like our 2006-10 teams did, and our 1968, 1984 and 1987 teams did
