Just curious, when do you blame the coaches for year after year of a below average record? (the old go to of blaming the lack of facilities is no longer applicable) When it's due. Specifically speaking of this game, and I listened to it on the radio, turnovers were the key. I'd go so far as to give up the fact coaching defense could have been an issue late, but so bama made some plays late that Troy didn't. I find it very difficult to blame the coaches for players not executing. Not sure that viewpoint has a base in reality. So a supervisor is not responsible to their manager/owner for the employees work and production that they supervise? They are too many instances in real life and in sports where a new manager or owner comes in and gets largely better results from the previous manager and owner with the exact same people. If a CEO does not produce profitability, he can't say, "don't blame me, the employees are just not getting it done " That's not how it works, that's not how any of this works. If this team does not or has not won, it rests on the shoulders of the coach.

Some people will always try to relate one thing to another and make it fit what they can understand...basketball has a complexity, but it's not that complicated. It doesn't require all that mumbo jumbo. You know that.

Ok.
We stink. I don't want to stink anymore. Win the Sunbelt or get someone who will.
Coach's record at Troy 2013-14: 11-20 (6-12) 2014-15: 10-19 (5-15) 2015-16: 9-22 (4-16) 2016-17: 8-7 (0-1)

We will get more than 3 more wins from the remaining games. It hasn't turned around like any of us hoped but it is turning. Basketball is different than football. Imagine if football had been 70+ juco players when Neal got here and he implemented an immediate plan to only sign high school kids. Does anyone think we would have been successful yet? I don't. When Phil got here we had what 2 or 3 players recruited from high school. Out of 15 players that's an 80/20 juco/hs mix. We are finally out of that mode and building a culture. Phil has done a nice job changing the scope of recruiting and I for one can see the positive direction.

A D2 school, a NAIA school, AL St and Al A&M, Some IL school with a losing record, a Ivy League school that went 8-15 last year, Chicago St 4-11 this season Seven of the eight wins were against losing record teams or lower division. In no way have we righted the ship. Schedule has been a patsy. Every decent team except Hawaii?? Has beaten us. You prove nothing beating lousy teams

I will be patient for the season to be played out completely.

Your basis in reality is off. 1st, look at football. Neal Brown took that team to its most wins Ever in his 2nd year. Basketball is so much easier to turn around. It can and has been done in a year. Basketballl, freshman regularly start and star on teams throughout the country at all levels. 2nd, explain women's basketball quick turnaround to winning ? How long do you wait for a basketball coach to get to the small milestone of above .500 record, don't even consider winning a championship? In his four year, coach has lost twice as many games as he has won. Ouch. Agree, let's see how the season turns out.
