If NB leaves place the call to Cent Arkansas and bring Steve Campbell home. 20+ years as HC, three national championships as player and coach, never had a loosing season and they are in the second round of the FCS playoffs I hate the "coaching change" talk has started, mainly because we will have to talk "down" about our alumni. Campbell has done great work, but he has done great work with athletes who could not make the grades to play D-1 ball. He is a very successful JUCO and FCS coach, I'm proud for him. Mike Turk is not the answer either, before that train starts rolling. We have to stay young whomever we hire in the next couple years.

Troy has no problem recruiting these same juco athletes he coached and don't the other juco's have the same type players? and you have to have the same grades to play D2 and FCS as D1. Steve is a winner and one heck of a coach. And don't we have a pretty successful woman's basketball coach who transitioned pretty well from juco?? As for now NB is our coach and I'm hoping he stays but while fully realizing he will leave for the right job.

D2 will allow you with a 2.0 GPA and a 820 SAT. D1 says 2.0 GPA and a SAT on a sliding scale?? My first year at Troy in 1986 was the first year of prop 48 and that year it did not apply to D2. The NCAA changed it the following year to apply to D2 because they were afraid they would have D2 schools competing with d1 if they had much lower academic standards. We actually got three players my signing class that were bonafide d1 prospects but could not meet prop 48

These are the minimum D1 requirements. Most conferences have higher requirements in place, even the Sun Belt.

Not a huge difference but a difference. Curious if certain schools have higher entrance standards than NCAA. I know Florida Tech is playing D2 in the GSC, I would think their requirements are higher. We have a family friend playing there that is pre-med.

There has been a lot of them in 20 years and given he's never had a losing season should have put him on top of a lot of job vacancy list? I like that he is a Troy man but you have to wonder.

Cincinnati is more of a threat than Houston; however I think we have one more season with Coach Brown and then he will move on to the next chapter. We can't compete with the offers he will get after another 9/3 or 10/2 season.....
