8 - 2 (5-1)....think about that for a few minutes!!! After 5 straight non-winning seasons, we have a team that has played to 8-2 thus far. We have a chance for our first 10 win season since moving to FBS. We are not in shambles. Listen to HCNB in his post game comments. He will continue to build this program into a conference champion again. And guess what...stAte can still lose to ULL and we can win out and be co-champions. Is that what we ultimately want...nope! But coming into this season if you had told me we would be sitting at 8-2 right now I would have been pumped at the thought. I was hoping for 7-5, 9-3 at best and we still have a chance at our first 10 win season since 2000! The best season we have had since is 9-4 in 2009. This season is NOT a bust!
With that said...10-2 here we come!!!
Go TROJANS!!!
Cry HAVOC!!!

Well said... Tearing these guys down for a poor performance will not instigate a better performance. Last night was bad but we are still in a good position to finish strong. Students have done much better supporting "their school" than in years past. If we can get more of our alumni to act the same, we are on the way to building a better overall culture. I have been a fan since 1988 and a faithful alumnus since 1992 and don't plan to take the T off of my tumbler just because we stunk it up last night. Build them up for a good effort this year and let's do better next year.

It is November 18, and the Troy Trojans are 8-2. If you would've said that in mid-July, folks laughed at you.
Keep it in perspective. At the start of the year, fans were tickled pink at the thought of SIX wins. We have the possibility to win TEN.
Last night sucked, but I think we all are smart enough to know that it was the outlier, not the first nine weeks. Everyone bought in to the hype - players, coaches, fans, etc. Now for the next 15 days we get to go back to playing football. The Troy Trojans will be just fine, just don't turn your back on the program after one piss poor evening.

We got woodshedded but.....
TMTDM was tuff in the 1st half. Tuffer than they have been all season.
Brandon couldnt hit the broad side of an orange elephant but that was the tightest coverage we have seen all year, including Clemson. He will make Texas State pay for the pain he and all of us felt last night.
We are 8-2
We are going bowling. The kids deserve it and so do we.
We cant say we were not warned they were gonna hit us hard.
The officials were garbage.
So,
After work today stick a beer in the freezer for 5 minutes, kick back and enjoy an ice cold, and reflect on what has been a hell of a history making season.

They out schemed us and tried something not done. They dared us to beat them by the pass. They took Chun out of the game plan and forced us to make throws with touch on the ball which is not our strong suit. Evidently they had the personnel to do it and I guarantee we are going to see man the last two games, now whether Tex St or Ga Southern has the players to do it we will see. Hats off to Ark St they found a flaw in us and took advantage of it

Alright alright alright. Way more joy than sorrow this season. We are playing with the house money at this point. Lose out and we still go bowling and have 8 wins. One more thing... Whup Jax State!

3-7 in 2015 on November 18. 8-2 in 2016 on November 18. What a difference a year makes. We will continue to get better. We are just fine.

Guys, as I sat in the stands last night, all I could think was how far we have come over these past couple of years and the fact that everybody eventually gets beat at home. I have to believe we got all the 'ugly' out of us last night as nothing went our way and we were playing a very quality opponent who has been on a roll this past half-decade, much like the Trojans did the previous half-decade. We will be just fine, like Coach said, this was just a good tail whuppin'! We need to learn from this lesson and move on to the next game. Even the most optimistic fan wearing our school colors could never have dreamed we'd be sitting in the position we are today. CNB and his staff will get the ship straightened out and we'll be back on course.
It's Thanksgiving time guys and WE ALL have a lot to be grateful for, our families, our friends, our country and our Mighty Trojans!
Go TROY!

A lot of you are going to think I'm crazy. My wife agrees with you, though for different reasons (many different reasons). So I'm crazy, but here goes.
We won last night. By we, I mean the TROJAN football program. Yes, we failed to prevail in the score department, so how, you ask, did we win?
Roughly 3,000 (let that number sink in) students came, and stayed for a TROY football game. They were engaged, they were rowdy, they cheered and waved white towels until the bitter end. We saw the culmination last night of almost two years worth of efforts by CNB, efforts to reach out to, and involve, the student body. We won.
I'm going out on a limb and say most of you will agree with all that. Here's where I go into crazy mode. I'm willing to trade last night's loss for the win mentioned above. Those students, a large number of them at least, have gained pride in their school. They will be alums who wear TROY gear, who come back to campus for games and yes, believe it or not, contribute financially to the program. Down the road that engagement, that infusion of cash will have a MUCH bigger impact than our winning last night's game, and the conference title, would have had. Did I want to win it? Yes, as much as any of you. Will I trade what was gained by having those students show up and get involved for last nights loss? Yep! We will continue to win, we will continue to improve, and last night was a big part of that, even if the improvement occurred off the field.
Fire away.

Considering where we have been these past few years, we can finish with between 8-10 wins, make a bowl, and put the conference back on notice, the sky is not falling, but the wall is still rebuilding my friends. Stay as we add more bricks in the coming years. Hopefully 10+ win seasons will become the norm

“Never OK to lose – that was my message to our football team, and I mean that,” Trojans head coach Neal Brown said. Never OK to lose...... I agree wholeheartedly and did not mean to imply otherwise. I suppose i could have said "settle" instead of "trade". On Wednesday, losing this game was unacceptable. On Friday, losing this game is unacceptable, but since lose we did, what positives can we draw from the loss? One of the few I see is the one I wrote about. Let's acknowledge that achieving anything less than a conference title means we have fallen short of our goals, but let's identify the positives that can be drawn from those failures and use them to our advantage. I wrote what I did with the knowledge that those who have skin in the game, coaches and their families, players and their families etc., will disagree with what I said. They wouldn't trade a win for anything, nor should they. However, as fans looking for something to soothe our wounds, I think the student's engagement helps. Again, I agree, it's not OK to lose, it's NEVER OK to lose.

No the sky didn't fall but our world came crashing down last night. It sucks we won't be conference champions. We have to fix this scheduling issue where every team doesn't play each other OR have two divisions with championship game! Hopefully that's in the plans!
