We played Clemson, ranked #2 at the time, close and had the opportunity to beat them. The argument could be made that except for a bad call on the goal line (no fumble) we would have. After the game, CNB gave our players credit but stated emphatically, "it's NOT OK to lose".
Fast forward to last night. Quoted by the Pensacola News Journal in an article linked to in the thread by KSD on post game media, Joey Jones said his guys played hard and he can "live with that". They played hard, yet lost, not to a ranked team but to the conference leader, and he can "live with that".
This quote, as well as CNB's following the Clemson loss, should be pulled and shown to EVERY recruit from here on out. It's not ok to play hard and lose as a TROJAN, but according to the Jags head coach, he can "live with" them losing as long as they play hard. See the quote below.
"We had a little chance at the end and had a chance to score. Just one of those games where it came down to the last minute. I will say I'm proud of our players. They went up against a team that was leading the conference and had a chance to win it. Played hard, played their guts out. You see that and I can live with that."
