I am pretty sure this was for the Nov. 20, 1997 Battle for the Ol' School Bell. If I remember correctly, either Sports Illustrated or ESPN did a piece on small school rivalries and has a pic of the TROY student section with a group of guys painted up for that cold November game. I was in that group and have been searching for this but have had no luck finding it. Does anyone have any information they could pass along to me regarding this article that included this game from 1997? or possibly 1995?
And just for old times sake....Whup Jax State! HA!
Go TROJANS!!! Cry HAVOC!!!

That cold November night was in 1997. My son and his buddy got a mouth piece and a chin strap from Andy Swafford and Tyler Deese. We waxed Jax St that night and it was COLD. As I remember, temp was only in the low 40's, but the wind was brutal at about 15 MPH. I don't remember the SI article, but I do remember that game. Those were good days, and that rivalry was intense. Thanks for the memories.

I am pretty sure the article was for the 1997 match-up because I remember being colder than cold with bare skin covered with a thin layer of paint. That game solidified my sold out fandom for TROY as more than just a fan of the football team but my school. Great memories indeed!
