I just compared the men's and women's conference games, and there are several dates that do not line up to create double headers. For instance, there are a few occasions where the women play a single home game and then there is a double header 3 days later. And then 2 days later, there is a single men's home game. Any ideas why the schedule was shifted? The addition of Coastal? Maybe a misprint on the schedules online? I just hate to think it would affect attendance for either team.

The Conference voted to split the schedules this year ... women play Thursday/Saturday & the men play Saturday/Monday.

The Conference voted to split the schedules this year ... women play Thursday/Saturday & the men play Saturday/Monday. Interesting choice...what were the reasons for this?

Probably increase revenue. Allow more days for play, more opportunity for people to attend, who may be unable to due to a certain reason

I'm a fan of the new schedule. For those of us who work the games, it means Sat. will be the only 5 hour night. Also will mean a later start time rather than 5:15 that could help get people here from surrounding areas on a weeknight.

The schedule shift is most likely to align with other conferences women's bball games, WHICH was driven by Title IX.
