TROY, Ala. (AP) Kevin Thomas shot 9-for-11 from the field, scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Troy defeated Alabama State 85-69 on Saturday.
Antoine Myers also had 19 points for Troy (4-3) and Jeff Mullahey added 16. The Trojans shot 54.4 percent from the field.
Troy scored 13 straight points in the first half to erase a one-point deficit and take a 22-10 lead. Alabama State (3-3) trailed by three with 15 minutes remaining in the second half but Troy went on a 9-2 run to extend its lead to 59-49 with 11:54 to play.
DeMarcus Robinson led Alabama State with 17 points but was 1-for-6 on 3-pointers. The Hornets made just 3 of 18 attempts from beyond the 3-point arc. It was Alabama State's first game since Nov. 18.
