BLOCKED! Sorry. I'm really looking forward to this weekend. One of the most natural OOC/non "same State" games that could be played and it's only played in the post-season. I'd love a 10 year h/h with Troy. Come on over and whoop and holler - I'm just hoping it's a really long, but safe, ride home for your traveling fans.

And 10 year home and home with Southern Miss would be a good decision for both schools IMHO.

Actually, we did play once in the regular season when I was a student, I think it was 1977. Anyway, to your point, this would be one of those type OOC situations that seems to be a perfect fit for both programs. It would be great to have a long term agreement but I assume that when UAB gets back on its feet, we will probably rekindle that relationship and have the Blazers on our annual schedule like we did over the recent years probably starting around 2020.
Go TROY!

I also remember the gruesome leg break on the USM receiver in the 08 Bowl game

I also remember the gruesome leg break on the USM receiver in the 08 Bowl game I remember that well. DeAndre Brown. I believe he was a freshman - maybe sophomore - at the time and was supposed to be one heck of a receiver. Not sure what happened with his career after the injury. Do recall it was rather gruesome on replay.

I also remember the gruesome leg break on the USM receiver in the 08 Bowl game I actually watched this video of this injury week 1 of the season. One of my co-workers was watching a youtube video of the injury and showed it to me. I said I was there and saw that live. Very gruesome.

DO NOT LOOK for the UAB hookup to happen ANYTIME SOON. Lots of folks upset about their "do over" and what that meant.. Interesting, please explain! The NCAA allows for 25 scholarships per year for football. They felt so bad for UAB they let Clark sign 45 this year, and then gave everyone on the team eligibility waivers until the return in 2017. By then, Clark plans to have 85 players on scholarship, or the maximum amount. www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2016/02/uab_college_football_ncaa_spri.htmlBasically they can sign almost double the allowed class and they don't have to be eligible until 17. A huge advantage that is ridiculous in my opinion. They are benefiting greatly from a 6 month shut down.

How many of that 45 will be HS players? I'm sure he will load up juco also which I hope he does because he will gave a rebuilding job again in 1-2 seasons. I agree the 45 in one year is ridiculous. Troy should drop football for 6 months and then reinstate it

That's the stupidest thing I've heard in......well 3minutes. Why would the NCAA inter into that stink between UA and UAB? If they make those exceptions for them, how can they deny others. Unbelievable!!!

Can't wait to head west on Friday! Go Trojans!!
