TROY – Even though several newcomers dot the Troy football lineup, the Trojans seemed to click well on their first day of camp Tuesday. “We had an exciting first day. A lot of new faces. Our roster’s changing, which it needs to,” Trojans head coach Neal Brown said. “I thought our leaders led today, and that’s something we’ve talked about a bunch. I thought our communication was better than it was at any point during the spring.” Offensive and defensive leaders alike agreed with their coach’s assessment. “Communication – I’ve talked about that all summer and all spring. I had to get more communicative, and I think I did a lot better today than I have,” quarterback Brandon Silvers said. “If something goes wrong, we got (to move to) the next play.” “Everybody’s communicating,” senior rush defensive end Rashad Dillard added. “ Communication is key. You look at all the great defenses that Troy had. One thing coach Vic (Koenning, Troy defensive coordinator) said (is) when he coached them, they communicated. Everybody knew what they were doing.” www.dothaneagle.com/sports/troy/troy-begins-preseason-drills-with-good-communication/article_608c1b1e-58f8-11e6-ae63-97b78dfea623.html?mode=jqm
