LEADING THE NATION: UAH's historic start has led the team to the top of the NCAA statistical rankings in the first report that was released on Monday. UAH is in the top 15 in Division II in seven categories.
Statistic Performance National Ranking
Scoring Offense 110.8 1st
Scoring Margin +49.8 1st
Steals Per Game 22.3 1st
Turnover Margin +19.0 1st
Assist/Turnover Ratio 1.34 12th
Assists Per Game 20.5 10th
Rebound Margin +19.0 5th
HANGING A HUNDRED: Only once before in program history has a UAH team scored 100 points in consecutive contests – this year's team has done it now in four straight to open the season. The run of 100-point games began with a 134-point showing against Hiwassee in the season opener, and that mark is the highest single-game scoring output in Division II in the 2013-14 season.
RECORD BREAKER: Jasmine Hammon broke yet another UAH record on Saturday when she became the program's leading rebounder, surpassing the old mark of 604 that has stood since 1986 when Crystal Cooper established the mark. The Muscle Shoals, Ala., native now owns the program bests in career points, rebounds, free throws made, and free throw attempts.
THIEVERY: The Lady Chargers have been impressive in forcing the other team to turn the basketball over as evidenced by UAH's top position nationally with 22.3 steals per game. Recording at least five steals in each of the team's four contests, Shannon Steinert leads UAH – and all of Division II – with 6.25 takeaways per contest, and Jordan Smith is 30th in the country with 3.5 steals per game.
SHARING THE BALL: After averaging 9.8 assists per contest last season, the Lady Chargers have been terrific in dishing out helpers thus far in the new campaign. The team is averaging 20.5 assists per contest, led by Jordan Smith's 6.3 – a number that is the 13th-best in the country.

LAST TIME OUT: The Trojans haven't played since last Tuesday when they dropped an 86-81 decision at Mercer. The Trojans started slow, trailing by 12 just six minutes in before cutting the lead to as little as three late in the first and second halves. Mercer made 25-of-27 free throws to help seal the win.
STRONG OFFENSE: Despite the slow start, Troy still scored 81 points and currently leads the Sun Belt, averaging 82.2 per game. Troy has scored 70-plus in four straight, a feat it accomplished twice last season on its way to leading the Sun Belt in scoring. The Trojans haven't scored 70-plus in five straight games since the final five games of the 1997-98 season.
SOLID ON D, TOO: Troy's pressure defense has also been a storyline as the Trojans have forced 112 turnovers in their four games. Troy's 28.0 forced turnovers per game lead the Sun Belt. Troy is averaging 27.0 points per game off of opponent turnovers. (Full Article)
