Good God, Silvers will throw for 800 yards against them next year...500 of them coming on pump fakes.

He was a good DB coach for us before he was the DC.

I'm proud for Jeremy and imagine he will have a positive impact on an already solid football team. It will be fun to see him again in Troy one day, even if it's on the opponents sideline!
Go TROY!

That's a little scary - for us - mistakes and failure is the best education.

I'm surprised he left the Packers so soon, but I guess he wants to get his college career back on track. I know some folks who will be sorry to see him go. He was doing well as DC there from what I've heard from their fans, and I would expect he brings some new education and good experience with him. He was a good position coach when he was with us, just not ready to deal with being DC. He'll probably do well with Southern.

He was a good position coach when he was with us, just not ready to deal with being DC. He'll probably do well with Southern. I don't understand that statement. His first four defenses a Troy were outstanding. Four of his years as DC were SBC title years. With his early years being his best, and very good, I can't see how someone can say he wasn't ready to be DC.

LSU 2009, FIU 2010, South Carolina 2010, pretty much the entire 2011 season, Tennessee 2012 (losing with 48 points and 712 yds of offense) and I'm sure I'm forgetting some more. I can still hear TY Hilton turning and laughing at our defense running down the field. He had VK recruits for part of his tenure, TF as OC 2006-07, and as the Sun Belt got tougher our defense got worse. This season proved how bad Rowell and Bolt were.

Some of this, though I don't blame the defense for LSU (that was more an offensive breakdown in my opinion). Once Rowell was on his own and particularly when he was responsible for his own recruiting, the defense went into a nosedive. Offense covered a lot of the defensive woes as the D unit went into decline. You don't really see just how bad the D was getting until the O started to tank. Then it was like a dumpster fire no one knew how to control. None the less, I don't believe he didn't learn anything from his past mistakes or his time with the Packers. He will also have some good recruiting connections that I had hoped we would be trying to take advantage of in Colquitt.
