Dalton has been invited to participate in the 2016 Senior Tropic Bowl located in Miami, FL. On January 15,16,17. The bowl itself is completely paid for, EXCEPT for travel and hotel. Help Dalton have the opportunity to play in front of numerous scouts and represent Troy University. The funds would be used for travel to and from Miami and the stay at the hotel. www.gofundme.com/s5h26rng

Someone help me understand the reason the Troy Athletic Department or Troy University would not want to help send the young man at no cost to him. I would think that him going, he would be representing Troy and the team he poured his heart into the past 5 1/2 years.

I would assume that it would violate some NCAA rule ... maybe? Even though he has no more eligibility, he's still Troy student, etc??

What makes it different if a booster donated?

While Mr. Ho always wants the very best for his fellow TMTDMers, it behooves Mr. Ho to be voice of reason here. The Tropic Bowl does nothing more than prey upon young men's dreams of playing at the next level in order to fleece them out of their money. Any 'Senior Bowl' that does not pay for travel expenses and hotel is not worthy of attending. It would be in Dalton's best interest to work out hard and do well during Troy's Senior Day and save his $1,000. Maybe use that money to hire a professional trainer that some players hire to work on specific drills. It should be noted that several TMTDMers never attended a real or fake Senior Bowl and were either drafted or signed as UDFAs - which in Daltons case might be the case - and that's not bad, Mr. Ho sign UDFA contract many year ago for Zimbabwe Cricket League.
This thing looks and smells like one of those sleezy High School 'Camps' that charge high school players to run a 100 yd dash and jump as high as they can and have a bulk film sent to every school in the country. Heck, this game isn't even played at FIU - it's played at some recreation-type field near FIU. This is the same group that held the 'FCS Bowl' earlier.
Somebody in the Athletic Department needs to sit down and talk to Dalton before he commits one penny to this. AT A MINIMUM, his agent should pay his way - if he has one. IF he doesn't then even more consideration should be given to passing on this and just working towards the Troy Pro Day.

Amazing how Ho's English gets much better when he shares a serious message about one of our Mighty Trojan brothers. I have to agree with Ho on this one, there are a number of legitimate post season all-star type bowls that offer a lot of players an opportunity to showcase their talent. I do hope Dalton gets a chance to at least try out for the next level as he gave his all on the field for several years and was an outstanding Troy Trojan.
Go TROY!

Someone please tell Ho that Dalton is not going to fork over $1k to these sharks? 'The bowl is paid-for EXCEPT travel and hotel'....what the he11 do they pay for? Dalton is rated #37 out of 98 centers and with his size and he has had a pretty stellar career; he will get a look from someone - even in Canada, which is not a bad deal. www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=105292&draftyear=2016&genpos=CSpend the money on a real NFL Training program to get your numbers where they need to be. I am sure his supporters would agree at whatever he wanted to do and HC Levi Brown will do whatever he can to help. Troy has had a very well attended Pro Day - I have heard that Bellichik actually has attended ours in the past because nobody bothers him in Troy.
