The individuals in 107 who experienced the events of last Saturday have been contacted by e-mail and or phone.
It has come to our attention that, due to an extremely large student turn-out, a number of seats in section 107 were used by students instead of their actual ticket holders. While we are very happy to see the increased student participation, we never want to alienate our committed season ticket holders. Going forward, we will be taking steps to ensure that students stay in the student sections. These include:
· Positioning multiple event staff members on the aisle separating section 107 and the student section to prevent spill-over.
· Event staff at the top of the section will continue to check ticket stubs to ensure our patrons are sitting in the correct sections.
· Increased awareness by police in regards to the edge of the student section.
If for any reason you experienced a problem and wish to move out of section 107, we are happy to oblige with a seat transfer. Please contact our ticket office at 334-670-3681 and ask to speak with Rachel Ketchum, our Ticket Manager, who will be able to assist you. You are also welcome to reply to this email.
Again, thank you for your support of Troy Trojans football and Troy University. We look forward to seeing you at Homecoming on October 17th.
The athletic department has been extremely generous to all who were involved. Every individual that I have spoken with has taken full advantage of the opportunity to transfer/upgrade seats and they are all 100% satisfied with this response.

I completely respect the universities quick reaction to this issue BUT what took so long. Invasion into reserved seating has been going on for years and if the EVENT STAFF does its usual job, absolutely nothing will happen. I hope someone got the message across that this is an ongoing problem at football AND basketball games. If event staff personnel don't perform their duties. fire them and get someone that will.

Are any of the 107 season ticket holders leaving? I like my 50 yard line seats and will give it one more game before we decide.

Now that the athletic department has responded does that mean people on here will finally quit whining and move on to other topics of discussion?

And nothing stated about anything done to the students involved or apology or assurances that discipline actions will be taken. Just as I expected...lip service

I say turn Section 107 into more student seating and transfer the normal Section 107 seat holders to open spots on the home side lower deck that have the metal backrests.

That wouldn't be a transfer, that would be an upgrade. Those are premium seats that require a contribution to the Trojan Warrior Fund in addition to the cost of reserved seating.

Don't forget that the students are the future season ticket holders and donors. Let's don't let a few ruin it for all.

The wind is blowing out of the North at 8-10 mph with 17 mph gusts and the air temperature is 57 degrees. High tide was at 3:29 early this morning and low tide is at 3:21 this afternoon.

Good God can we drop this subject. The students are jamming their section and that's a problem? They're students and for the most part idiots. I should know, I was one once. Drinking, cussing, smoking? Wow, this isn't Liberty, it's Troy. The home upper deck is a disgrace. Move over there, it's not like you are at Neyland Stadium and are sitting 300 yards from the field.

As a member of a fraternity on campus, I understand that a lot of the time a few (in this case a lot) of bad apples can spoil it for the whole bunch. I was glad that we had a full student section and we stayed for the whole game, however I am not proud of our actions a small portion of the Troy student body took Saturday. Will a change happen by the next game? Maybe. Those typical "frat jerks" will unfortunately still be "frat jerks." But I do believe that the majority of the Troy student body, both Greek and NonGreek will not behave in this manner in the games to come.

Ladies and gentlemen, I'll be brief. The issue here is not whether they broke a few rules, or took a few liberties with our guests - But you can't hold a whole fraternity responsible for the behavior of a few, sick twisted individuals. For if you do, then shouldn't we blame the whole fraternity system? And if the whole fraternity system is guilty, then isn't this an indictment of our educational institutions in general? I put it to you, - isn't this an indictment of our entire American society? Well, you can do whatever you want to them but we're not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America. Gentlemen!

In the name of little baby Jesus, lets move on.
We get it, to the Chicken Little's that thought the world was ending and we needed to burn down Pell Ave. , the stadium and the Quad, it's over.
We get it, to the 4 groups of seat holders that a few college kids smoked and cussed at you, quit crying in the breast milk, you got new fancier seats and you group is not abandoning Troy forever. It will be ok.
We get it, to the people that think the students are scourge of society, yes some were hooligans yesterday, some will be hooligans today and some will be hooligans tomorrow. Deal with it and move on.
We have an SEC team to focus on and beat down.

Please tell me it's not the same people who complain that no students come to games that are whining about the overflow into 107... I think if it had just been overflow into unused seats no one would have cared. What irked people was that ticket holders were forcibly displaced by a bad group of students and there was no one to help handle the situation (event staff or security). Most of us fight with seat poachers every game (typically easy to get people to move to different poached seats), and this time the admin handled it very well and very quickly. Shouldn't have happened in the first place but nicely recovered it seems. Admin gets even more points if they can get event staff to keep people out of our seats. LOL
