Many are quick to blame Brandon silvers for the loss. Many also blame the lack of play calling in the fast paced offense the receivers drop the ball or that the defensive backs didn't cover well or whatever.
Let's not forget the coach Brown is also the offensive play caller. When he is running down the sideline screaming at the officials because of a call they made he has to remember it is still 2nd and 10 or 2nd and 15, and he is required to get the play in to the offense. When he speaks about the offense had no rhythm we could not get in a groove, my question is how can he expect the offense to get in a groove when he himself is out of touch out of focus out of a groove?
Let us remember this is his first time at the rodeo as well, head coach and play caller at the same time. Something he has never done before. Maybe that was part of the problem on Saturday? May be the focus of the coaches diminished when they did not like what the officials were doing and not put it all on the players.

Interesting points. My only concern on NB was no HC experience so nothing to guage him On. Some assts make great HC ( Urban Myers etc). Some flop (Muschsmp, Weiss). I like a fiery coach but like you said, there is a time for it. Hopefully we get back on track because the offense is killing us right now. Defense played good enough last two games to win but you can't scoring 3 and 18 (3 in the second half)

Good scenario, I do have confidence in NB. I think, some expected to much too soon. Some praised QB at the end of season last year after one minor win this year now bashing. It what some fans do. I am not sure he is the answer and have never wavered on that opinion, while last year there were moments of greatness when it counted like Saturday, just could not do it. However don't get on here one day calling him the next great QB of Troy beating out some great ones to now say the opposite. But really its what we have and thanks to last years coaches what was chosen. None recruited last year, and others appear to be seniors. (I think we will take a transfer or JUCO next year) I hate the thoughts we have now put ourselves thinking we are great last year after beating a bad Idaho team and New Mexico team, the proof was the games we lost, that we want to be equal if not better than. (the ULL, LA MONROE, GA Southern). It took us a while to get here going to take more than a second to fix, but we are headed that way with NB.
I think this year, is a true rebuilding year. Saturday was bad, offensively, however I some differences for sure in the defense, first season in a while. We are still outsized and that is killing us and will hurt this Saturday. however winning 4 or 5 this year is what we can hope for, and that still is an improvement from last year.

I would add that many OFTEN FORGET that Brandon is a sophomore, albeit a RED Shirt, still a sophomore, with a brand new coach at the most critical position. Not to mention he has taken quite a beating this year against two pretty good Power 5 teams. So throw the blame all over the place, it just proves that factors, outside the data analysis sheets, play into the "whose fault is it" equation, doesn't it?

There's enough fault to go around to a lot of folks up to this point. I like seeing my head coach fired up on the sideline, didn't some complain because LB seemed uninvolved and unemotional on the sideline. I've seen many a great coach fired up on the sideline, Lombardi was a classic. As to Silvers, he made some throws that should have been caught and will be IF we are to win so it's not all on him but 21/2 years is plenty of time to get it together at QB, new coach or not. Two head coaches and several assistants have picked him as the best choice we have to win at QB and I suspect they know better than any of us. I can't imagine a reason why they wouldn't play another QB UNLESS they have seen reasons in practice not to. I'm sure they want to win as badly as the rest of us Saturday morning coaches. Play calling still amazes me though (see, I like to Saturday morning coach as well) . We are so easy to defense because of our predictability. Can't understand the reason for that. That was a huge game Saturday and we didn't get it done!

I can't help going back to Levi with the "showed in practice". He showed enough to be 3rd string. Yes you need to perform in practice but there are certain players that are just game performers. We will never know on #11 because he will never get a shot. I agree with Redwaver on liking a coach showing emotion but I also see navarres point on maybe forgetting you are also calling plays in a uptempo offense also. Hope we get it turned around. Sadly a few loses temper the new excitement and I'm Guilty of it also. Still games to play but we can't win averaging 12 points a game. Our defense has played well enough to win the last two which is exciting

We are so easy to defense because of our predictability... I would guess that had more to do with the offense's inability to get anything else done during the game than anything else. The QB wasn't up to snuff and the receivers weren't catching the good ones that he did get off. Not sure why Flakes wasn't used more if they were going to the run, but I don't know what was going on down on the sideline. Also really, really want them to learn to take the ball from under center. I do think the coaches are holding the team together well, keeping them pumped up rather than letting discouragement take hold, and actually paying attention this year. Very glad to see THE COACHES not wandering around and chitchatting with random people while ignoring the players and the game play during the game. Some of them were just as guilty of that over the last few years as the players were. NB has it together and has fixed some serious issues in a short time, and more will come. I also like his willingness to take full responsibility for his team in a no nonsense kind of way. Still not sold on Silvers, but I don't by any stretch blame him for everything that's wrong with the offense.
