Heading to Starkville for the first time for this game. Any recommendations of places to eat or things to see/do on their campus?

Approximately 30 miles east of Starkvile is Columbus. In Columbus is Old Hickory Steakhouse. If you can time your Friday arrival so that you are passing through Columbus at dinner time, or you can arrive in Starkville early and drive back to Columbus or can stay in Columbus (which I would do if I were making the trip), Old Hickory is definitely a good choice. One of the finest steaks I've ever eaten came from there. It's not a fancy place, not much atmosphere but the steaks are tremendous.

As a former coach at MSU I can tell you of two places. The place that everyone raves about is Little Dooeys BBQ. This is where GameDay goes when they come to town (infrequently yes I know). It's not bad, but there will likely be a long wait.
A little known secret place is right on the corner on the main drag. Little place across from Wendy's called Pettys. Mr. Petty and his crew make AWESOME authentic BBQ. You eat there and you will be doing all right!
