Did you read any of the comments on that article? Here's an example: "Dude, that thing screams copenhagen, rednecks, and trailers. Hard to believe any institute of higher education would come up with that." Well that comment does sum up Pike County pretty well. Sad that someone that claims to be a Trojan continues to put down Troy and the community. All those "rednecks" end up in the same dirt as the elitist who looks down upon them.

Well that comment does sum up Pike County pretty well. Yes...a typical stereotype. Stereotypes have a foundation in the truth. There are also good country folk in Pike County. And it is also the home of Crowes chicken. Miss Crowes. Pike County is what it is.

(Face Palm) here we go again.
So... In other news... Where do you think CNB will put the belt in his office?
He probably can scoot the old school bell over some, lord knows that thing has years of dust on it.

It would be good in reenacting a Power Rangers dual.

I am not a fan of the BELT title chosen by the SGA's due to our conference being called THE BELT for short.......However the afore picture in real life would make it all worth while.....think Neal would go for it?

There's no such thing as bad publicity as long as they spell your name correctly. As a Public Relations pro for over 20 years......bingo!!! You are right about that, as long as you are not associated with anything illegal, all they will remember is TROY and that other school.

I think the belt is a little goofy but if it motivates the players to play better, then I am all for it.

Did you read any of the comments on that article? Those comments are pretty common for 1) Being in Alabama, 2) Being in Troy, AL and having a football team that dares to play in FBS, and 3) for being in the Sunbelt. They're the same comments we get every year no matter what we do, as does pretty much every team in our conference. The one that actually hurts is the one that says we're two of the worst teams in the country because of it's truth. I'm ready to not be at the bottom any more. We win this weekend and we can start climbing back up, football elitists be damned.

Not impressed with this Belt idea. Could have been a little more creative than that and some cheap looking belt.

Just goes to show that you can't please all of the people all of the time and you can't even please some of the people some of the time. I just hope we remember that we are Trojans one and all!

I didn't like the belt at first but I have to be honest... It has grown on me the past couple of days. I just don't like the title "Battle for the Belt."
I'm a current TROY student, and the current student body is ready to DESTROY the Jags. And we don't care what we win as long as we get the W.
However, we should focus on beating the opponent and not beating each other up. Let's go, Trojans!! Whup South!!!

All those "rednecks" end up in the same dirt as the elitist who looks down upon them. READING! COMPREHENSION! I didn't do anything to put down Troy or the community, you lock-stepper! I was showing evidence that OTHER PEOPLE are putting down the community and stereotyping them because of this ugly belt. And no, calling the belt ugly isn't putting any thing down except the design of the belt. If it were up to you, Larry Blakeney would still be on the sideline saying, "We gotta work on that..."

I'll have to say that I'm a bit surprised by all the negativity and complaining. I suppose I shouldn't be. I was the lone alumni representative when we created the Battle for the Palladium during a meeting with some Troy students, MTSU students, and MTSU alumni. There were haters then, too. But it grew and became something special. I think the Belt has the same potential. Ultimately, I believe it helps Troy. Marketing is huge and students came up with this, so it must appeal to them. Glad for it! And being a wrestling fan when I was young, I love it! Go Trojans! Win the belt!

I HAVE A CAPS LOCK BUTTON AS WELL Yes I see you have failed at reading comprehension. My response was to the person who took a jab at Pike County. The county in which Troy University is located. You can now take your granny panties out of a wad and resume your normal daily activities.

Yeah, but it doesn't mean anything when you use it.
I never said that person claimed to be a Troy fan. You were either referring to me or you didn't understand. *You* have either failed at reading comprehension or you are lying to get out of your mistake, which is it?
Crude. Unoriginal. Stupid. What's with all your underwear references, anyway?
In case you, or anyone else hasn't noticed I take offense at being called less of a fan, or when I'm accused of attacking other fans, when I simply disagree. I voice my dissent BECAUSE I AM A FAN and I think something is a bad idea for the program. Being a fan doesn't mean participating in group-think. If someone disagrees with me and wants to discuss it like human beings, I'm happy to. If someone wants to attack and make accusations I will defend myself.

Ok, angry guy caps locks means more than everyone else? Got it. My response was to SaintFlorian. When I quoted him it also shows your post that he quotes. I can't help the you just can't seem to understand how that works. I guess we all struggle with something in life. Crude unoriginal and Stupid? PANTIES PANTIES PANTIES. I haven't seen anyone question your fandom. I have no idea what you're babbling about in that particular part of the post. I will say that you or anyone else that wants to stifle the growth of Troy and its product will probably be very unhappy in the upcoming years. Little ole Troy is moving into aggressive, outside of the box thinking, reaching our full potential Troy.

Surf Report: The surf unfortunately has dropped. A lot. It is shin to knee high. The winds are coming out of the North at 3-5 mph causing for offshore conditions. This is the last day of any kind of bump out here. The east coast looks good for the next few days. Hope you got some good surf.
