The Wisconsin D-line goes 296,268,272 Troy's goes 249,279,274. The UW O-line goes 325,299,316,321, and 301 The Troy O-line goes 281,306,268,320, and 299 Not a huge cumulative difference. Their O line average is 310 +/-, while Troys D-line average is 265, that was the difference. Just got pushed around and that made it very difficult to pressure the QB "Those two teams seemed very similar to me"--- Helen Keller

Anyone see where we won the time of possession and had more 1st downs than Wisconsin? And a better completion of 3rd downs, ran more plays etc. The stats actually don't look bad against the Badgers, but we never got close to the end zone

They held better too....... They held better too.......especially on our LBs I remember in our wishbone days we actually had some holding drills on how to try to do it without getting caught. Not uncommon for run teams to do. Doesn't make it right...unless your the team that gets away with it

I'm even more jaded as the Big Ten usually get holding called alot less....They blatantly hugged several of our players on two touchdown runs.I'm not a whiner, their is a way to hold and when the back numbers are covered with the oppositions gloves (hugging)that need to called because that is seen......that is all.

I also think their size allows them to get away with it also. When your 6"5 320 blocking a 5"10 220 lb you swallow them and obstruct some things

Hey guys...don't mean to jump your Wisconsin thread but curious as to your assessment of NC State compared to Wisconsin. Not looking for NC State platitudes, but since you've played both teams I am interested in your thoughts.

Hey guys...don't mean to jump your Wisconsin thread but curious as to your assessment of NC State compared to Wisconsin. Not looking for NC State platitudes, but since you've played both teams I am interested in your thoughts. honestly, we would probably have had Wisconsin in a bit of fix had Bryan Holmes been available .....got hurt in your game....long pass wideout.....however that is football....Defenses pretty similar except for our long passes.......I would say that when we played NC State you guys had one penalty, no turnovers and QB missed on one pass.....about as flawless as possible.....When comparing the two teams I frankly think you guys are better....or at least the day we played you guys you were.....probably could be a pretty good game.........We were a 29 point dog to Wisconsin and our score with you guys was a tad misleading as to how bad we were ......so like it or not they did not really probably get too fired up.....but if I were laying odds on neutral field would give you guys 7 points...with over and under of 38.

I thought Wisonsin was more athletic on defense but the QB play by NC State was superb. He even forced a few throws threw some very tiny windows. If your QB stays hot or is truly that accurate NC State will push for a ACC Championship. If Wisconsin continues to struggle rushing they could finish outside the top 25

I thought NC State looked like the total package. A very good football team, strong in all facets.

Thanks guys...you are higher on our team than a lot of our fans are (including me). FSU, Clemson, and Louisville appear to be somewhat down this year but "down" is relative. I think NC State is a couple years away from challenging for our division championship...win the division and anything can happen in the conference championship game.
Good luck with the rest of your season.
