So, I'm up in the stadium Club at halftime, checking things out and saw the Tenn/OU game on TV. Two men, both wearing Troy polos, are also watching. One says, "yeah, about watched MY Auburn Tigers lose today!" And I say, "to be honest with you, I was hoping Jax State would have won!" And he says, must be the Bamer in you," and I say, "no, to be honest it would be OK with me if NEITHER of those two EVER won a game!" ..and I say, "The SEC beats their chest after the first week by beating 3 middle of the road Power 5 schools, 3 FBS schools and the Sun Belt... And other man says, " Well, where are you from?" Hateful like, and I say, FWB/Destin area," ..and he says, "well who do ya'll play? And I say, " Huh?, I went to school here, at TROY, we don't have a college football in FWB/Destin, and damn sure don't care for Alabama or Auburn," ...and he says, "You want to take this outside?!!!!!". and I say, " to fist fight?" And he says, "yeah"!!!! Well, I tried to explain that him that I was NEVER going to fist fight again unless physically provoked, and certainly not over a football game, BUT IF I WERE TO DO SO, I would gauge your eyes out and crap down your throat!!! And he walked away. Folks, true story, was really upset that neither Alabama nor Auburn were my NUMBER ONE TEAM!!! He looked like he was from this planet, but now I'm not sure!!!! WOW, just " wow"!!!

I had stadium club seats in 2012. Between your story and the crotchety old people complaining about how Johnny Long did this and how we used to do things it was enough to switch to the lower section. I could not believe the amount of people who paid that kind of money for tickets and didn't even care about Troy

Ya... You won't ever see me up there unless I'm lost. Well we can just differ on that. I like my seats, but hope SOME DAY I can't afford them because they are too expensive. Not the point of the thread, well it might be. Maybe he thought that you HAD to be an ALABAMA or Auburn fan to be up there???

I had better food at the T-Club tent. Nice being able to get out of the heat occasionally and the chair back seats were nice. I enjoyed sitting in the end zone last year with my stadium seat. Great view and four tickets were half of what one stadium club seat ran. Just felt like I was closer to the game. Miss not being at the games but it is next to impossible for me to attend this year with my business right now.

I gave up my seats in the SC. I got tired of paying all that money for a lousy meal that I had to eat sitting on the floor

I've had no issues of concern whatsoever with being in SC. Works out well for us, bunch of neighbors and friends there which gives my son some company. Parents typically trade off time responsibilities of watching kids and making sure everyone is nice. The food's ok, nothing great but that's not what I expect. Not once have I ever had a need to sit on the floor.

All we need to do is crack the Top 25, have a Heisman dark-horse candidate or maybe beat one of the big guys, get some real national attention... We need a real good season and build on this. Teams such as NIU, Northwestern, Fresno St etc do this all the time...people will want to be part of this!

I think part of this thread explains part of what is wrong with our inability to build our donor base. I pay EXACTLY the same for my tickets as you do for yours, presuming you buy reserved seats. The rest of the money is my DONATION to the athletic department. Does that mean there are some additional amenities? Yes, absolutely, clean bathrooms, a place to put purses and jackets and yes, liquor, dry space, cool space, warm space, as well as food (I've NEVER eaten the tailgate meal).
ALL of these things keep my wife coming, makes my life happier, and provides a donation to the school. The seats ARE better and should be. She is 5' tall and CAN NOT STAND someone standing up the entire game, thinks its rude and inconsiderate. I know, I know, have told her many times at many BIG GAMES, "they paid for their seats"!!
But TO BE CLEAR the difference between my club seats and your reserved seats are level of donation, nothing else.
I chose to donate my money in this way and take the amenities. You could certainly buy family packs, 4 tickets for $90, and donate $2000 cash, and I know some that do. I just chose to do it this way.

I have three kids all in college at the same time so I can't do Stadium club seats, donate extra or attend road games. In two years when they are all out I will substantially up my donations.

Don't take this the wrong way, I was not judging or condemning so there is no need to comment. You already explained why you quit buying them is because you didn't like the food and had to sit on the floor, I GET IT, but I would hope that if you did leave because of those reasons, you maintained your donation level. Now it sounds like you left because you couldn't afford it. If that's the reason, just say so.

Never thought you were condemning me. I just made a point that some chose to be stadium club members, some don't. Right now I choose not to. Some of it I would rather use that money towards college. My three will graduate with no student debt or debt on our end. It's been a sacrifice for sure. I fully plan to up my donations to SC level in two years. The main thing is support at what level you can. Aren't we Trojans one and all facebookthumbup
