Attendance numbers are baffling. They announce 17,000 Saturday but last year at either the NMSU game or App st game there was no way there was over 4,000 there and they announced 15,000. Hard to tell what's accurate. I've heard it goes by tickets sold not buts in the stands Tickets sold, just like everyone else Exactly. This is how some DI programs maintain their minimum NCAA attendance requirements. Tickets sold not butts in the seat. This is also why their was only 15,000 or less in attendance. If our announced is 17,500 than that means every person that bought a ticket showed up ?

So I fell for it. Begs the question why would one of our own try to convince us the attendance was larger by using pics from MS. State? Look who the source was, that's all you need to know. Source was a pic posted by Troy University this week, so I guess you don't like Troy U.? Oh wait, it's not in Florida so why would you talk bad about it.

NMSU had a big push to get more people out to the game agains Ga State this weekend and they got over 27k announced all from marketing the game and what not.
Why can't we do something to make a big push for a game like south?
Normally NMSU struggles to get 15,000 out.

Devaluing your product, for a one time attendance boost, when you're trying to rebuild it, is not the answer.

I just read that the So Ala game will be a blackout game with free T shirts for the first 10000 fans.

They showed great pictures on ESPN3. It looked like a great crowd early! I was thinking over 20000. Disappointed to hear 17 something. I'm sure they counted everyone at least once though.

The home side did get better than that picture by kick off (student section got better too...guess everyone was watching as much of the Bammer game as they could before they came to the game).
I wonder if the count included the bands there for Band Day? I have no idea if they have to buy tickets. If they don't, that could be why the stadium looked more full than the announced attendance.

Loved the enthusiasm of the sidelines through out the game. They were definitely Troys 12th man this past Saturday. My boys favorite part of the game Saturday was the big O/D linemen on the sideline doing the stanky leg dance. It is going to take some time for Troy to get back to being the Troy that won 5 consecutive conference titles, and could play with anyone in the country competitively, but this past Saturday was a great 1st step in the right direction.
