For anyone who made the trip for the NC State game...I'd be very interested to read any comments good or bad on your experience. Well treated? NC State fans are all jerks? Etc. etc. Full disclosure...if you didn't already know I'm a Wolfpack fan. Just interested to know your impressions, both good and not so good.
Thanks guys.

Had a good time. Everyone was very nice. Got invited to get some BBQ by a pack fan. I would go back if we play there again.
The stadium is roomy and clean. I really enjoyed it.
Only negative was it was confusing leaving traffic wise.
Btw when you guys come to Troy in 2 years let us know how we do.

Very good atmosphere. Was actually impressed with crowd as sometimes P5 fan bases don't show up for a cupcake eatin'.Fans were very family oriented around me and I left having more respect for Wolfpack Nation than I thought I would.
P.S. Hopefully we are growing out of the cupcake biz and will slip a "L" on the icing for your return to TROY.

I hope you didn't use the east side restrooms...been a legitimate gripe of East Siders for years. Traffic egress is sometimes a problem also even though they are trying to improve it based on the color of your parking pass...but still confusing especially if you're not familiar with the area.

Thanks guys. Rico, Had a GREAT TIME. If I knew how to post our tailgate pics I would, pm me your email and I will sure send them. Our tailgate was around 50, give or take, but our NC St neighbors just made everyone feel at home, 20 racks of baby back ribs, MUCH pulled pork, collards, Mac and cheese that took all night to bake, I could go on!! It was great! They were the Wolfpack Tailgate Champions of 2013, (NOTE: Folks we got to do this!!!!) and were just wondrful. We compared "smart waters" with locals, (sorry you missed that Possum) it was close as to which was BEST. Apparently it was a tie!! Wolfpack Club personnel were awesome, they hooked us up right! Answered our questions, made sure we had an opportunity to see the new indoor facility, they were great. Stood in the rain and got DRENCHED but hung right with us. We competed, played hard, showed that we CAN PLAY with the bigs, just need to be milliesecond quicker on tackels, reads and throws and concentrate just a tad deeper on CATCHES, tackels and blocks and we are right there. Mastering these things do not come quickly, but IMPROVEMENT does. I think we will see that throughout the year within the TROY Nation. We are excited. Thanks for all your info, come see us in 17, WE WILL RETURN THE FAVOR!!

P.S. Hopefully we are growing out of the cupcake biz and will slip a "L" on the icing for your return to TROY. Glad to see the family oriented comment. There is a dynamic around here that is unusual, with Duke, NC State, and UNC (and also East Carolina) all very close geographically. Discounting all the foreign transplants (meaning the very large number of northerners who live here), we interact with our rival fans all the time...at work, church, neighborhood, grocery store, etc. While it's dangerous to generalize, we hear far too much from the other fan bases about how terrible the State fans are..."foul mouthed drunks", "will never take my wife or child there again", "we were assaulted by a gang of MooU low lifes," etc. Every school has some knuckleheads and NC State is no exception...but that's why I wanted to ask you guys for the goods and bads of what you experienced.
The crowd was just what I expected for a non-conference game...pretty ho hum. Nothing at all against Troy...just not the same vibe as when we play UNC, Clemson, or FSU and I'm sure you understand that.
As for the trip to Troy...if we've learned anything I hope it's that no game should be taken for granted. I think you have a young, capable, energetic coach who will do well. At the end of the day it comes down to recruiting...and Alabama and Auburn can't get 'em all!

Sorry you got drenched...the weather was iffy all day and poured buckets at my house (45 minutes from Carter-Finley) so we didn't even leave home until 3:30 and didn't tailgate at all...was relieved that the weather cooperated during the game. I told all my friends that those guys were going to show up and show out...you can be proud of the compete level your team displayed. Not surprised the Wolfpack Club guys were helpful...Bobby and his staff do a great job. Good luck with the rest of your season...anything you'd like me to pass along to your brethren at USA?

There are LOTS OF THINGS I could have you "pass along" to our "brethren" at South, but will reserve for a future date in TROY, and we will do that ourselves!!!! Have a GREAT YEAR Wolfpack!!

Rico, the only complaint I have is that Carter-Finley needs to be moved about 5 hours closer to Troy.
The state of South Carolina is a waste of space.
