Coaches are subject to ridicule on here per the Rowell, Bolt, and Blakeney bashers over the past years. We can't have a double standard now can we? If Chan has been offended by a post on this board, and it bothers him enough, he can log in and defend himself. I doubt he cares what a message board poster on a Troy board has to say. You haven't seen me bash any former players. Out of curiosity what is the difference in some people on here mocking the D2 days and you mocking players with long hair, an undersized center from a few years ago, or juco players? I don't like that guy anyway. He tries to bring Bologna Bowls to the tailgates. Gailey did what he hired to do...Rowell and Bolt did not. Ridiculing a coach who won a national championship?? If that makes one feel like a big man...have at it. Voicing a opinion on long hair is not mocking them. I don't agree with the long hair, do I still root for those players? Yes. I did not agree with the juco route as a fix that failed midserably. Do I still root for them in a game? Yes. Never mocked a undersized center, I voiced a concern at his size. I also said he proved me wrong and complimented him on his toughness. The difference is there are people who look down on anybody that played D2 as being beneath them, when they couldn't have even played D2. That's my point. I respect any player that wears the Troy uniform. I might not condone everything they do, but I respect them. Fellas, fellas. All TroyStet wants is to trot the boys out in wool uniforms and leather helmets, play fiddle gospel music over the PA and exclusively run the Notre Dame Box offense. Is that too much to ask?

Big words coming from someone who didn't play. National Championship rings....Coach Gailey 1. American Dream zero Bashing a fellow Trojan because he isn't a former player? Not cool. Not cool at all. Troy athletics values his support just the same as anyone else's. Hemi, bashing a fellow Trojan every time he post is not cool either, not cool at all and troystet gets his share of that. I agree that everyone support is valued, even those that might often see the glass half empty. It's interesting how we can often turn on our own if they happen to say something we disagree with or that's not as upbeat as we would like. Reminds me of the political scene these days. We sll support Troy so lets build a brotherhood. I agree that now is time to see what's good at Troy! There's nothing that can be done to change the past but the future is there for the ride so let's all jump on board! GO TROJANS!

Something I've learned through my many years of lurking the internets: Don't feed the trolls! Acknowledging that they exist by replying to their posts is their primary food source. Yes, they will post things that you'll have deep urge to correct or defend something they attempt to defame, but its losing battle. If you ignore them, they will eventually go away.
But yes, I feel the defense is much better than in years past. Yes, NCST put up a lot of points, but they did that through insanely lopsided time of possession and number of plays run. Overall, we only allowed 5.357 yards per play. More impressive to me is that the defense actually tightened up as play went on despite being on the field for 2/3 of the game.

No doubt the game on third down was the difference.Extremely lopsided.Their QB made some great throws some where we had them blanketed in the first half. Can't wait for Saturday!

When you tell someone their opinion doesn't matter because they didn't play and you challenge them to put on the pads you open yourself up to criticism. Funny how your never critical of your local crew. You never say anything about anything they say or any insults they throw. It's just those that are not in your clique. I've come to accept that fact. He insulted a coach who turned a program around and insulted those on the 84 team. Yes I spoke up and will speak up against those who look down on D2 players when they themselves couldn't play at the D2 level. He's a tough guy behind a keyboard . I never insult anybody who didn't play, my son chose to not play football and I think no less of him. But if you want to make comments about someone because they only coached or played D2 then I will say something when that person didn't play. So it's ok for your buddies to insult the 84-87 teams, say that I want leather helmets and gospel music on the PA, insult my home, insult my teammates and basically say any lie about me, but if anyone calls out one of the chosen locals....well that's not going to happen. Maybe you should evaluate your We value everyone's support speeches because you don't.

When you tell someone their opinion doesn't matter because they didn't play and you challenge them to put on the pads you open yourself up to criticism. Hemi, you know as well as I do that the chastising and mockery of that poster started WAY before those statements. He and I have talked and we often disagree on philosophy but I respect his dedication to his university and his opinions even if they are occasional at odds. If we had more like him there might not be as many fans dressed as alumimum seats as we do every game day. I'm neutral on most stuff here but I go have opinions and they may differ from someone else's. I don't expect agreement justvrespectother than having played at Troy in the "nonglorious" days, according to many, and it gets darn old hearing fans (yes, many who never put on a pad or went through the hell of 3 a days in their lives ) offer up never ending put downs of former players, leather helmets and other just as plain dumb opinions. Sports, just like any great institution, all had a foundation that was built by the sweat of someone else and hopefully as that was Kate's it provided a very successful future. Troy even had a coach destroy all former records of the football program before he arrived. What an absolutely idiotic act that was but the epitome of what I trying to express. That act changed nothing but show stupidity. What I've learned about this medium is it makes faux bravery exist where it normally would never be found! Just this old goats thoughts! We have enough "enemies" at USA, ULL, ULM, ASU, ASU, GSU, GSU, NMSU AND iSU to be harrassing our own. Whether you played or not, have tons of money or not, can go to every game or not or stand every minute and yell or not, EVERYONE of us are on the SAME TEAM!, we need to act like it. Go Trojans!
